I guess the people down in Texas never watched our men's bb games on ESPN3. If they did, maybe they saw how our home fan base may have grown from 600 to 750.

That's mostly thanks to me. I have gained more weight over the years, and my arse now takes up 3.5 seats. I can practically fill a row myself. So, thanks to me, the place looks a little fuller. Plus, the folks on ESPN3 usually see me chomping down a foot-long monster weenie that bloats me and makes me look even bigger. I make sure not to go to the bathroom until after the game when we are off camera. See how I sacrifice to make the attendance look bigger? I may need to put this on my resume because I think I have done more to increase attendance than Morris did!

Totally agree, the position is for all purposes vacated right now. He has checked out. The longer a position is filled by someone in name only, the worse the situation will get. As they say, someone is just "collecting a paycheck" right now. I honestly think he answers to nobody

What gets me most is the lack of needed repairs to Huskie Stadium. Forget about the "Master Plan". I realize that fundraising has failed and that there is no money to even talk about it. But there are facility repairs/upgrades that have been needed for a long time in Huskie Stadium. The bathrooms are disgusting and a complete embarrassment. The urinal troughs from 1965 need to go and be replaced. There needs to be adequate facilities. I sometimes used the bathroom in the Skybox, and I could barely fit in there. I am embarrassed to bring guests and tell them that they should use a bathroom before we get to the stadium. Concessions could use a makeover, too. These are not major renovations.

True, and I don't think the fans watching our Tuesday night games from home on TV generally translate into big donors that could donate toward even just the maintenance, never mind upgrades.
No upgrades for a team that draws less than 15k. Add the budget crisis and it would be shocking if any improvements are made.

Yea but the comments were that we supposedly had the donor support for upgrades. What happened to that?

If NIU could just get that one big home basketball game.... When you combine that with the upward trajectory in talent, I think NIU bball would take off. Just so hard to land that big home game now.

Yes, supposedly some money came in. If not, they should scrap the "Master Plan" (if it hasn't already been) and start a donation campaign only for repairs/upgrades. The fundraising does not need to be major, but it does need to be aggressive. Making a request for donations on a website does not do it.

As I mentioned, the bathroom situation is deplorable. If they can't do simple upgrades like ripping out the piss troughs and putting in urinals and adding more and better concessions areas, then they should simply get out of the business. It's not only an embarrassment for our fans but also for fans from the high schools that play in Huskie Stadium.

Yea, also the sinks in the bathroom shut off as soon as you let go of the knob, it's impossible to really wash your hands. Who was the idiot that came up with that?

Someday someone is going to take a header down those stairs on the bottom floor bathrooms. That is a setup just asking for trouble

Back to the original thread. Derrick Brooks (FSU/BUCS) has taken himself out consideration. Current hot button candidate is Tom Jurich former Louisville AD. Now you can go back to your bathroom fetish.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I assume you are talking about the stairs that lead to the urinal troughs in the northeast corner of HS. I love that area. I have been going there since 1970 and nothing has changed. I believe they have the same washing machine and dryer to the left of the urinal area for over 45 years.

How appropriate that this thread that started as a topic of STF possibly being a candidate for another position has turned into a conversation about urinals. Ironic, huh? Or prophetic?

The guy that USF hired looks like a home run for them with extensive ties.

I have a mixed opinion on him. IT is obvious nobody wants him, which means he isnt up to par for what a bigger school is looking for. NIU is a great stepping stone.
He isnt Jim Philips by any means, I wish him the best of luck on interview number 9 (that is a guess).

With how things are shaping up, it would not surprise me if Frazier ends up at a Sun Belt school by December. I think he is at a spot now where he would take a lateral or backward type move to change environments
