Karlgaard needs to get this damn hire done and done right. Even before the announcement that OG was not coming back, the uncertainty was being used by competing schools for recruits. I know this first hand. He’s on the verge of creating a disaster by allowing this debacle to drag out.

My sincere hope has been for some P5 school to come calling for him, but the longer he stays (and thus the worse his results) the more I realize that this is probably not going to happen.

I am planning on watching Dane next week when the Santa Barbara Foresters play. I hope I can ask him about the transfer.

Can we rule out grades as to why they will be heading to JC’s?

He was responsible for one of the best moments in the 2018 season:

I was really looking forward to Aviles being a big hitter in our lineup. Next years lineup is starting to look really sketchy.....

Why would a student transfer before the coach is announced? I feel like it is unrelated to the coach spot unless they were banking on Saarloos or bust...but if it is due the the delay and confusion that rice AD has-then I would call for their jobs. You had all year to line something up and maybe a contingent plan, but instead the institution looks like a joke with an exodus of talent.

Well, quite possibly at 1st base.

It's looking more and more every day that we should make the move to D3. We're honestly already operating a D3 athletic department with just a few D1 donors.

When the debate came up within the last year, I was 60 - 40 for staying D1. I agree, if we can't get our act together, we should cut our losses and go for D3.

The news just keep getting worse. A week ago, there was some sort of expectation that we would get a Saarloos Lance combo. Now, each day we look plain silly and now are starting to lose players.
