Indoor Practice Facility on track
The temporary indoor facility is slated to be completed by early August per Mike Houston on ESPN Radio in Harrisonburg.

Full interview: https://soundcloud.com/espn-harrisonburg...ch-houston

on a related note, I heard rumors that the permanent facility will be built where long-mauck stadium (old baseball stadium) currently sits.

Construction going on at the temporary indoor facility site. structural materials are on site so I expect you'll see the framing going up soon.

I am still trying to figure out which track they are installing the Indoor Practice Facility on. They already removed the track from inside BFS and the track at Sentara Park is too nice to be used for this purpose. Do you mean the train tracks? 02-13-banana

That would explain the extra third floor that they built.

Sentara Park - the very top most field that had nothing built on it (yet).

I don’t think that’s been determined yet. That was the natural spot when the new convo was built but it will cost too much to build in the old convo from what I’ve heard. We can do nicer if we do it in a different spot.

Nicer and I suspect at a lower cost.

Nicer, lower cost and looks better than the old convo and it's a space that currently isn't being used for anything anyways? That's just too no-brainer of a decision.

Will the old convo be coming down in the somewhat near future? By somewhat near future I am using the same timeline that JMU uses when referencing a conference move.

If they really want to drive the town folk crazy with rumors they should float the idea of having Hburg build the new HS big enough for all students and then JMU buys the current HS and converts it into an indoor practice facility and a new transit center for the above ground monorail system.

Looking forward to seeing those again when the Good Guys in Purple travel to Morgantown in 2019.

I saw the “tubing” being set-up last week, kinda of like an erector set, but haven’t been by that area to see the “roof” on top. Thanks for posting the pix.

Question for anyone...what is the length of the practice field? It looks rather short, like 50 yards or so, but definitely not 100 yards long.
