No Owls qualified for U.S. (golf) Open
At least I'm pretty sure no one did. Three Owls competed in the sectional qualifying at Shadowhawk in Richmond earlier this week (there were 52 golfers in the field vying for 3 spots to the U.S. Open). Mario Carmona was close - he finished -7 thru 36 holes and in a tie for 7th place (you needed to shoot -10 or better to qualify). Mitchell Meissner was a little back of him at -4, and Michael Whitehead was also -4 (tied for 19th).

I'm sure they're disappointed they didn't make it, but shooting those scores in the pressure cooker of a US Open sectional is a worthy accomplishment. My congratulations to all!
