RE: WAC MLB Draft 2018
The San Francisco Giants selected GCU right handed pitcher Jake Wong in the 3rd round with the 80th overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft.
Scouting report:

Wong is a hard-throwing right-handed pitcher who was the top starter for Grand Canyon the last couple years. His fastball regularly hovers in the lower-90s, but he tops out in the 96-97 range. He throws a slider and changeup as well, so he figures to open his professional career as a starter.

Conference is doing a good job tracking and posting updates on WAC student-athletes being drafted today. Congrats to UVU & SU, who have also had guys drafted.

Saw Outman blow the GCU/Sac St tourney game open with that double down the line that scored 2. Good for him on being selected, even if it is the Doyers. :)

Both Zach Malis and Ian Evans were drafted so far today. Malis went in the 24th round to the Detroit Tigers. Evans went in the 26th round to the Baltimore Orioles.

How is everyone looking with incoming commits in the draft?

The 'Runners had two that I know of drafted:
Jacen Roberson: Garces HS OF/P
Brandon Ramey: Riverside RHP

Roberson reportedly will not sign, Ramey I don't know. He was drafted very late.

Didn't here anything this year about any of our recruits getting drafted. I know that GCU posted about it last year, so I assume that they would have done so again this year if that was the case.

RE: WAC MLB Draft 2018
I think teams went with more experience (college) players this year.
