OT-CONGRATS CAPS FANS
I was 10 the last time DC won a title. Awesome feeling for all the long time Caps fans that have seem them fail so many times.

RE: OT-CONGRATS CAPS FANS
My first hockey game was a Caps/Edmonton game at the old Cap Centre. I have loved this team since I was a little kid growing up in Virginia Beach watching games on HTS and WDCA. They have made me smile. They have made me cry. They have made me crazy on a regular basis. Tonight they made me cry tears of joy.

They did Vegas a favor. If VGK had won in their first year, then what would be left to play for? The next few years will be all about solidifying the fanbase and turning the bandwagon "Vegas is cool" fan into a "Vegas is a hockey town" fan.

Nothing condenses the fanbase like a few years of playoff disappointments

RE: OT-CONGRATS CAPS FANS
I was ten years old when a new friend at a new school took me to a caps game. That was 16 years ago. I remember going to a game my freshman year of high school (2005-2006), the place was damn near empty. I was in the streets outside of Cap One Arena for game 5 and seeing it go from a quiet cavernous stadium to tens of thousands of fans packed in tight for an away game was absolutely incredible. The feeling is still settling in, it still feels like a dream lol. After years of disappointment, the team finally delivered and it feels so good! Now let's hope that the rest of the DC teams can pick up on it like Boston did a few years ago haha

Did you see the fans the entire playoffs? If that was a condensed version, what was it like before?

Yes I went to several playoff games and a couple of watch parties outside the stadium. A lot of the people who gave up on the team came back especially after the Penguins series, which I am not against at all! The turnout in the finals especially game 5 was something I will never forget. But years of playoff losses really took a toll on some fans who checked out during the regular season. I did have some friends who stopped watching them altogether until after the Pens series as I mentioned before. But as we say about ODU sports, winning cures all haha.

The DC sports fan comment was about DC sports as a whole, not just the Caps
