Hotel suggestions for visitors
So I have a couple friends from Arizona coming into town to check out Graceland and the Civil Rights Museum. I am pretty on top of sightseeing stuff, but I don't know about the quality of hotels, especially in their preferred price range (under $100).

Right now, their reservations are for La Quinta and Days Inn by Graceland. Now, my understanding is the reputation of the area can be dodgy unless it is the Guesthouse itself (outside the price range). The reviews for the La Quinta seem ok, many of these hotels have made efforts to assuage concerns, and the Whitehaven area as a whole is trying to do so as well.

So I am trying to balance the indisputably existent classist and racial fearmongering and hyperbole against the indisputably existent possibly corporately-influenced minimization of real problems and security concerns.

Anyone have experiences or insight into the La Quinta, Days Inn, or even the Holiday Express around there?

See if they can switch to the new La Quinta on Union Ave. at Danny Thomas.

It's brand new and knocked out. Property is fenced and secure.

Far more to do around that area than Elvis around the Graceland area.

Ok, I will share that insight with them. If it is over $100, it may be out of their price range. I appreciate the insight, though.
