Americans' Reactions to NFL National Anthem Rule Revealed in New Poll
Quote:A majority of both Americans and NFL fans support the league's new rule requiring players and team personnel to stand for the playing of the national anthem or remain in the locker room during the song.
According to the results of a Survey Monkey poll, 54 percent of Americans approve of the new policy compared to just 43 percent who oppose it.
Of those who identify as NFL fans, 56 percent are in favor of the anthem rule, while 42 percent are not. Furthermore, “big fans” of the NFL support the move by a margin of 59-40.
When asked if players who kneel during the national anthem are being patriotic or unpatriotic, 41 percent called it unpatriotic — nearly three times more than the number of respondents who believe it's patriotic.
Fifty-five percent indicated they believe it is fair for the NFL to fine teams if players refuse to live up to conduct standards during the national anthem. Fifty-seven percent added that the option to remain in the locker room is a good compromise.

RE: Americans' Reactions to NFL National Anthem Rule Revealed in New Poll
It has the popular vote, but low 40s "no" is still a high number of viewers. Will they still tune in? Probably so, but perhaps the best way forward is to just show the person singing it and some fans (and not the players).
