Thanks. There are still a few things to work out if this vote is approved, but it’s a huge step in the right direction.

The formal vote is tomorrow. But with the announcement coming out ahead of the vote, you have to think everything is lined up for a “Yes” vote tomorrow. Otherwise it would be foolish to let this get out. Our board is made up mostly of USA alum. The Dollar General Bowl has already indicated it would want to play in a stadium on the USA campus. The Senior Bowl is mum on it at the moment, but indications are they would play at USA too. It could be that practices are held at Ladd but the game held at USA Stadium. The timeline is aggressive and would have stadium construction starting in July of this year. Go Jags!

Looks nice

Good for USA, but kills my long-standing hope that the university and community could build something close to downtown as a joint project. Would have been great to be able to hit bars and restaurants then walk to a game.

Quick points:
- The stadium can be expanded to 32k and 40k easily. The concourse is really wide for that purpose.
- The press box can be expanded to the 20 to 20 or end zone to end zone and add a 5th level to it.
- This design took the best parts of 5 stadiums we visited and combined them into one stadium. Those stadiums are Colorado State, Tulane, UCF, SMU, and FAU.
- The field would be artificial turf.
- $0 will come from students. No tuition increases or fees on students.

That looks really nice! Kinda curious as to why ya'll would look at SMU and FAUs stadiums though..

I’m sure there were different reasons for going to each stadium: design, capacity, type of stadium, age of stadium, etc. Our AD and his team have definitely done the homework for this to get done. Originally we were thinking a horseshoe design; maybe that’s why there was a visit to SMU.

Congratulations! It will be a yes vote. I am concerned however, that the yes vote will set free a monster within the SBC that may bite all of us in a few years. Regardless, USA deserves the on campus stadium and all the fun that comes with it.

Hopefully it gets approved. That is a nice G5 stadium.

USA's football facility building set off a bit of an arms race in the SBC when they opened in 2008. I imagine this stadium could do something similar, but it seems several programs are already working on improving their stadiums already.

I'm all for you but don't get the big head. Your football facility did not set off any kind of an arms race and your stadium won't either. But it will be nice for you and help your program and the conference. Now go and enjoy your celebration.
