ND at Navy in Prime Time
Navy Athletics has posted to Facebook (I haven't looked on twitter yet):

"Breaking: Navy Football vs. Notre Dame in San Diego will kick at 8 PM (ET), 5:00 PM (PT), while the Army-Navy game in Philadelphia will kick at 3 PM (ET). Both games will be televised by CBS"

I didn't say "at Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium."

Navy's end of a 91-year-old home-and-home. Jacksonville was a pro-Navy crowd - moreso than when we host them at stadia around the Northeast - and San Diego should be also. Don't forget, Navy was a better attendance attraction in the Poinsettia Bowl than SDSU was.

I do wonder how much of the Brigade will be able to go...

Note that the official press release called it the "Army-Navy" game.

I say Army-Navy. Hasn't really bothered me for the last 31 years. There is a certain contingent of Navy fans who want to say Navy-Army, but it just doesn't sound right to me. Might be habit, might be alphabetical order.

These days, it's also branding. USAA has been the name sponsor of the Army-Navy game since 2009 and recently re-signed through 2025. Actually sponsor all 23 of the varsity intercollegiate contests between USNA and USMA - you'll see the "Army-Navy Game presented by USAA" logo when you watch many of those "non-revenue" sports on CBSSN. If they're giving us millions (on top of TV $ and gate $) and want a consistency that I was already observing for 22 years before their sponsorship? I'm cool with that.

There's the release:

I had forgotten that we have the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party as our opening act.

Exactly.

It's the Army-Navy game. No slight to Navy. That's just it's name.

Oh, and by the way...

Please run over ND's faces and put fat head Brian Kelly out of our misery.

If Navy wins in San Diego, it will probably look like the Jax win did: we limited them to six possessions, and Kelly kicked a field goal down seven with 7:30 left...and never got the ball back.i am already imagining Kelly foregoing a field goal in that situation having been burned, and Navy stops them on downs and goes on to win.

I enjoyed being stationed in the UK, where the RN is the senior service.
The US Army War College is at Carlisle Barracks in central Pennsylvania; the Garrison HQ building flies a Union Jack because it was established in 1758 as a British post in the French and Indian War.
