Aaron Menzies has transferred
Just read on Twitter Aaron Menzies has transferred to St. Marys. Any Seattle fans that can confirm this?

I'd been hearing this for awhile honestly. Not suprised. It sucks but at the same time he really didn't fit Hayford's system, just too good to not play. Hope the best for him, was also looking into turning pro in Europe. So now 3-star Seton Hall transfer Myles Carter likely will be the center

RE: Aaron Menzies has transferred
Menzies was not the focal point of the offense. He was there to rebound 3-pointers and put backs. Yet he still had over 10 double doubles while playing 6th amount of minutes on the team. To say he is a "practice body" is completely asinine and ignorant. Not everything is about PPG.

Watch him play. He was playing out of system but still was critical to SU. He did nothing freshman year except foul and within 2 years grew into arguably the best center in the WAC. Menzies has talent but he doesn't fit Hayford's system and he is smart to leave. He will have a great career in Europe

I would think ppl at UVU NMSU and GCU would take your "best center in the WAC" quote to task.

You left out a certain word in that quote

Seattle, I agree with you. He was definitely in the conversation for best center last year and coming into this year. I know he gave us fits last year. From a WAC talent perspective, I am sorry to see him leave. From a selfish Aggie perspective, I won't miss dealing with him during games.

Best center in the WAC? I would say Utah Valley's Center was the best. GCU really didn't have a center. Lever was definitely the best power forward. Forward/guard was Jermerio Jones.

RE: Aaron Menzies has transferred
Expect Hayford to pick up the offensive pace now that Menzies is no longer in the line up. Seattle should look more fluid offensively. However, without a massive center like Menzies, Seattle has lost the type presence in the paint which forces opposing coaches adjust their offensive and defensive game plans. I know NMSU struggled with defending (and scoring on) Menzies size. Chuha had a difficult time scoring over Menzies.

Where in this thread did anyone say Menzies was the best center in the WAC? I can’t find that. But every team game planned for him. He was on everyone’s radar. He affected just about every game he played. He was a factor. UVU probably had the best center this year. At worst, Menzies was the second best. None of this is debatable.

PPosse has spoken. Nothing is debatable once he has spoken.

Menzies disappeared in games vs Chicago St UMKC GCU NMSU. He isn't terrible but he is behind 4/5 post players in the WAC.
