I will never forget listening to the radio call of the Miami (Ohio) vs NIU game in which we scored 35 4th quarter points to mount a comeback to beat Big Ben.
Unbelievable!!

Even with JJs departure the defensive should be serviceable. But man that offense could be extraordinarily bad. Same limitations in coaching , not running an offense, and the few playmakers from last year are gone. Childers is limited by the lack of an offense and coaching, I just see some regression from the offense

Also can’t expect Iowa to end up being as bad as a 4 win Nebraska team.

Yeah, there's no proven reason to believe the offense will be better this year but I drink the Kool-Aid.
Childers takes a step forward allowing the staff to open up the offense (from our minimal standards) and next man up proves out that we have enough depth at the skill positions to be competitive with an above average defense and special teams. What gives me confidence is our play in the trenches.
I'm probably taking 30 people to the Utah game and am dying for a rockn evening atmosphere at Huskies Stadium, which pretty much requires an Iowa win. Not likely, but we should compete.

I have thought for awhile now, NIU would be in an ideal situation if Frazier had coaching decisions written out of his contract for some other designated person, and if Carey had a promise to not have an contribution or involvement with the offense in any way in his contract.
