I feel like the advantage Troy had today over Georgia just went out the window. We could've forced the host team to play twice in one day, which may have worked in our favor. Now UGA gets to rest for tomorrow's game.

Is there anyone reading this who was there? Someone told me the weather wasn't really bad, but uga needed an excuse.

The lengthy delay during the Campbell game is mandated because of lightning in the area. NCAA rules require that if Lightning strikes within 8 miles of a stadium, the game must be delayed for at least 30 minutes, whether it is raining or not. Once the game starts, its up to the NCAA and umpires when to resume.
As for the Troy/UGA game not being played. There is an NCAA rule about the latest possible start time for a game. In this case, with the mandatory 40 minutes between games, it would have been a start after 10pm, and usually the NCAA will always postpone in that case unless the game has to get in that day.

The end of that game was difficult to watch. It's like the Campbell coach had a giant brain fart. His reliever struggled in the 8th but held on for a 8-5 lead. Instead of bringing his closer into the 9th, he let the struggling reliever come out again and give up 4 more runs and the lead. Duke began to pile on after that on every Campbell pen arm. A fresh arm to start the 9th may have prevented that game from spinning out of control on them.

Lightning was legitimate. The freakish comeback by Duke was the real killer.

It’s been storming everyday for about a month in Georgia. Just as it probably has in Alabama.
