Memorial Day thanks
On this day to remember all of our Veterans I just want to thank you and your families for your service and the sacrifices you have made for your country. God bless you.

Thanks to all those who served and who gave their lives for America, for us.

Like most of our national holidays - Memorial Day, President's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Labor Day - They have all become just a day a long weekend for fun. Schools should have classes on those days to learn what was important about those people being recognized, and how respect should be shown for their sacrifice. As the article you noted says our stores set a bad example by using these days to promote their businesses.

Love vets, lots of vets in my family and friends.

In my culture this is not Veterans Day per se, we called it decoration day, you visit grave sites and put flowers and remember those gone before. Some are vets, some are not.
