RE: Eric Gregory commits to Memphis
in all fairness wayward, I live in NWA and there ain't a whole lot of other options....the Hogs belong to the entire state and there is no pro or college competition for fandom.....other than Nebraska, you can't say that about too many other places

I agree - Chad Morris may be a good hire, but it wasn't much of a splash

Which is good for usually playing one of the top teams AAC teams. It what it is. I'm really down on our football program to where I dropped our season tickets more in protest of the policies of the former AD but the new bunch has done nothing to win me back and it appears thousands more bit if they just brush up with being decent the stadium will have 70k plus like always. Let me know when Memphis gets to that point.

When you have a suck team, I guess you battle other fans by crowd size. Guess I will let you have that.

When was the last time your fans got to watch your team play for a Western Division Championship or League Championship?!
Let me know when Arkansas gets to that point.

I think they were much closer to hiring Norvell than people realize... and I think Norvell had one foot out the door. Glad they hired Morris instead!

We should be very glad there were rumors floated out about Norvell's past and Arkansas was stupid enough to ask continually about them throughout the interview process...

I know a lot of AR fans preferred MN

Morris may have gotten the nod because of his ties to Texas

Bielema pissed off most of the HS coaches in TX with his comments about the way to run an offense

I grew up in Texarkana TEXAS, one block off the state line and learned to argue “quality of life”, and other positive elements of Texas over Arkansas
whith all my Arky neighbors from the first grade until... heck we’re still arguing whenever I go back. The point is, driving through Arkansas, every two bit mom and pop grocery station will have a full inventory of plastic hog heads you can buy to wear while watching the Hogs play on your TV. I suspect 90% of those UA T-shirts are worn by T-shirt fans. They have a phenomenal faithful fan base, one any school would love to have. Their biggest asset is no in-state D1 competition. The’re the top dog/hog.

Morris is recruitin' East Texas very effectively and that usually pays off for Arkansas historically. With Chavis, the D Line recruiting is the best in years. And that's it in a Nutshell, Chavis and his track record. Arkansas stands at #22 in the crootin' rankings. But that's nearly always the case, it's getting actual top 25 results with that that has been a booger.
