UH loses to Tulane in the first round of their tournament 9-6. They now face UCF tomorrow morning in an elimination game. I know they won their conference and have a good record against top 50 RPI teams but overall they're just 33-22 and now their RPI is 54. 2-and-out might leave them at home.

Aggies beat Vandy earlier. Probably have to win one more to be safe.

Sam probably needs to win their conference tourney to make it in.

TCU needs to win their tourney to get in.

UT needs to go deep to get a national seed and maybe win one to guarantee a host spot.

On Wednesday...

UT loses to Kansas 3-2.

Sam loses to New Orleans 4-3 in 10.

TX State loses to Troy 5-1.

A&M defeats Georgia 7-0.

LSU loses to FL 4-3.

UH defeats UCF 6-2.

The weather is causing crazy things to happen. ULaLa and Little Rock got in a little under 4 innings last night. Game started at about 9:30 and was stopped at 11:45 due to rain. Score was 8-7. Game resumed at 8:30 this morning (short night) and is currently 16-13 Little Rock in the bottom of 7. Guy for the Cajuns had a grand slam last night and a 3 run Hr this morning. I guess the pitchers are still sleeping.

USM did shut out UAB 2-0. Louisiana Tech and FIU have started their elimination game. FIU takes an early 1-0 lead.

Louisiana Tech now leads 3-1 in the 4th inning.

Charlotte - UAB started at 11:07pm. Any bets on ending time? Current forecast calls for thunderstorms to start rolling in at 5:00am, with chance of rain 40 - 51% until 11:00am, when the chance of rain drops into the mid-30% range. If they ever get the final losers bracket game in by the wee hours this morning, we're in for another long morning/day at MGM Park; except this time (as opposed to yesterday and today's multiple delays) we are likely to actually see rain and a tarp placed on the field.

It probably wasn't awful since it was another 2-0 final (UAB lost both of its games yesterday by a 2-0 score. They had 3 hits in one loss, and 4 hits in the other). Mother Nature helped out yesterday so any chance of moving the tournament to single elimination has to be over now (since La Tech and Charlotte have already played two games apiece). The tropical system (which probably will end up with a name - Alberto) is taking its time developing, so perhaps we get lucky and get this tournament finished after all, but there will still be weather delays the rest of the weekend regardless.

I'd say it's a toss up. FAU as far more pitching left, BUT it looks like Miranda (one of their two top hitters) will be out for the rest of the tourney. And we hate FAU this year for their classless behavior at Reckling.

But again, if we have to play either, we'll likely not get the auto-bid required as I very much doubt a championship game will be played on Sunday. We need to go single-elimination starting tomorrow.

Weather.com's 5-day forecast shows rain is less likely on Sunday (50%) than Saturday (80%) ... with precipitation a 100% certainty on Monday.

FAU just tied up La Tech with a 3-run homer. It's 4-4 in the 4th. Both teams have used 2 pitchers already.
