Geno is all about Geno going to the NBA. I am glad he’s a Huskie but for Gods sake pass the ball once in awhile!
Really thought from everything Geno said when he joined the program that he would be more of an "all-in", "win at all costs" type player. Does not appear that is the case. In his defense, he is not in an ideal situation right now so I feel for him that way. I keep thinking back to that Kent first round game this past March and the team mutiny which occurred on the bench, seeing McCarty and German almost comes to blows. I don't know about everyone else, but I am just soooooooooooooooooo sick of attitudes and controllable factors getting in the way of performance. Where does this stem from, is it a culture MM has created or is it a longer term culture created over say a 15 to 20 year period. We have just had these never ending stream of "me me" players for a long time now. Why can Buffalo integrate so much talent without having the battle of egos take place? Maybe it is because Buffalo has established that longer term positive culture over a few decades, and for individuals to go off the tracks in a program like that is harder. I actually think NIU was closer to being a decent team last year than many people think, but how does NIU get over this systemic cultural blockade to success, its really mind boggling.
So why did McCarty and German almost comes to blows?

German was visibly pissed at McCarty for not catching a pass. German and Thorpe almost came to blows as German actually swung at Thorpe.

dekalb222 might be talking about another instance, I was referring to the Kent State MAC tourney game. German was getting on Levi Bradley for some mistake he made, and I think Mccarty just had enough of German bringing his teammates down. They started jawing back and forth and people had to step in between them. The whole bench for the 1st half of that Kent game was a pretty big mess, was surprised they mounted that comeback with how things got out of hand so badly both on the scoreboard and on the bench. As rough as last year was, there was some signs here and there of a good basketball team

RE: DeKalb222—-Help—-German Question
I was talking about a different German, McCarty blow up. They should be a better 3pt shooting team. My big concern is asking Jaylen Key and Lacey James to play center. They will get destroyed even in the MAC they are small for that position. In my opinion team desperately needs another Marin type guy.

Sounds like we have a head coach that is letting the inmates run the asylum. That never works out very well. I don't think that Monty can get this thing pointed in the right direction.
