RE: FUTURE FOOTBALL SCHEDULES
I bet we have 5 or so to announce but they are going to wait until after the season is over before saying who. Need to keep the buzz going

I am ready for some new announcements. Wonder what Freeze’ scheduling philosophy is?

I think head coaches have minimal, if any, input. He may bot even be the coach here once any new games are scheduled since we are full for three years through 2021.

A schedule should have a strong mixture of games against teams in their recruiting territories, playing in locations that plenty of alumni can attend, and getting matchups that bring the most national attention and sell home tickets.

And have a healthy dose of winnable games.

That's true but it is hard to predict who will be winnable the five plus years after you schedule the game. You can make assumptions but who would have thought that FAU or FIU would be some of the best G5 schools right now or Washington State a top P5? Next year we play Syracuse and who thought we'd be playing a team coming of a top 25 season?

You can predict but who knows what will happen. I would like to try to see this every year:

2 P5 away games big names
1 P5 home game
1 top tier G5 home game (Army, BYU or and AAC/Boise St)
7 other G5 games
1 FCS local team easy to beat (Hampton or Norfolk St)

RE: FUTURE FOOTBALL SCHEDULES
2 P5 away games big names - Notre Dame, USC
1 P5 home game - Va. Tech
1 top tier G5 home game - BYU
7 other G5 games - FIU, SMU, Georgia St., UAB, Navy, ECU, Army
1 FCS local team easy to beat - Hampton/Norfolk St.
However, I’d drop the FCS game and add ODU.

I like a national schedule from the Atlantic to the pacific.
I like covering the recruiting south (FL, GA, AL, NC).
I like a game vs. football crazy TX.
And I like regional match-ups.

This is pretty much what I had in mind but I’d drop UAB for ODU. The FCS game in my mind is important right now because it counts towards bowl eligiblity. More time to practice is important for a new program.

RE: FUTURE FOOTBALL SCHEDULES
The series with us/UMass has been extended to 10 years.

Quote:UMass and Liberty is also now a 10-year agreement following the latest additions to the series already undertaken with Massachusetts' triple-overtime win against Liberty on Nov. 3, 2018. The Maroon and White will host the Flames in 2026 before the team heads to Lynchburg, Virginia, in 2027. An eight-game series spanning the 2018-25 was announced prior to the 2018 campaign.

I would like to see a rotation between UNA and KSU every other year for your FCS game. Keep it in the conference deal.

RE: FUTURE FOOTBALL SCHEDULES
I expect Liberty and UMass to be playing annually as long as both are independent. This makes sense and hopefully a rivalry continues to blossom. I know we are kicking ourselves for losing this year. We would have been bowl-eligible.

What offense do y’all run? We wouldn’t play KSU because of the triple option.

Agree, no triple option teams unless we have to.

RPO, spread. Pretty much a variation of y'alls offense.

Then I’d be okay playing y’all. The TO is hard enough to prepare for when it’s army no need to play an FCS team that runs it.

We are doing a fine job scheduling, but I’d like to see a few more Florida and western games on the schedules.

Florida, yes, western, no. I just don’t want a ton of games out there unless it’s money games.

I’d be good with any Pac 12 or Big 12 team obviously. I’d also be good with just about any MWC team. Throw in Texas A&M, Houston, SMU, and maybe Rice, and I’m okay with playing out west.

I’d be good with the Texas G5 teams but the California G5 teams don’t do anything for me. Maybe SDSU but other than that no.

RE: FUTURE FOOTBALL SCHEDULES
West of Texas doesn't seem worth it to be a regular occurrence. The western half of the country just doesn't care about football. It would be nice for our alumni every once in a while but I don't see a whole lot of value.
