RE: FUTURE FOOTBALL SCHEDULES
Did anyone else notice during Commencement, when Jerry Jr. Was introducing President Carter, he memtioned we’d be playing Navy in football in the very near future?

I didn't see it but Navy would be very unlikely. They have four non-conference openings a year and three are filled by Army, Air Force, and Notre Dame.

He definitely said Navy. It caught my attention. I wonder if he got the Army games confused?

At this point, we shouldn’t doubt anything. Just looking at what we’ve collected as an independent thus far is amazing. It will be nice to play the academies consistently especially on military appreciation day.

I might just go to the EMU game if I'm still in Michigan at that time. Was EMU the first FBS win in LU's football history? That's what I'm remembering off the top of my head.

They were way back in 1989. We are 5-21 all time vs FBS teams. Other wins:

2010 Ball State
2014 App State
2015 GAST
2017 Baylor

RE: FUTURE FOOTBALL SCHEDULES
Thinking out loud, I believe it will be nearly impossible for us to get a home game against a Big Ten, Big Twelve, or PAC 12 school. They play nine conference games a year and will want any away non-conference game to be against a P5 opponent every other year when they have five home conference games. Until we are labeled P5 for scheduling purposes, we won't get to host these schools.

Lower level Big Ten schools may be interested in a 2-1 with us taking less money for the games. Other than that I highly doubt it would happen.

Liberty schedules home and home series with Miami (OH):

Sept 30, 2023 at Miami (OH)
Sept 27, 2025 in Lynchburg

Now let’s get Miami (FL).

RE: FUTURE FOOTBALL SCHEDULES
I don't think I would go this direction but I see that we are trying to make a winnable schedule to build a winning tradition. I think Boise State took this approach when they moved up. I remember non-conference schedules being very easy for Baylor when McCaw was AD there so this must be his thing.

Since we are newcomers to FBS, I think it would be wise to schedule a series of games with Hawaii. That way, any year we play their we'd have the ability to play a 13th game. Build our history, a not lose out on a home game, and we can play Week 0 with little competition.

That is a good idea on the Hawaii game. Likely next best thing to tell recruits with LU's limbo bowl selection.

RE: FUTURE FOOTBALL SCHEDULES
Just a quick glance at the 22 schedule is exciting. We have VT and BYU at home. It’d be great to nail down one more marquee home game for that season.

The local Sam's Club has some really nice LU chairs in a bag for only $30 each. I'll probably buy a set for our tailgating party this Saturday.

RE: FUTURE FOOTBALL SCHEDULES
No matter how good they are or we are, it'll be very tough for either of us to beat the other twice in the same year.

I guess deals aren’t made in season. It seems like so long since a new opponent has been named.
