CAA Award winners
RF Charlie McConnell wins Player of the Year, 2B Ian Fair Co-Rookie of the Year and Mike Glavine Coach of the Year once again.
P Sean Mellen, 3B Ryan Solomon and McConnell make 1st team.
1B Jake Farrell, CF Mason Koppens and Ian Fair make 2nd team.
P Tyler Brown and SS Max Burt on 3rd team.
Personally, John Rooney is very good, but Mellen was the Pitcher of the Year too me.
Rooney’s numbers came against a very weak non-conference schedule compared to Mellen, who beat Creighton, Missouri, a undefeated Auburn team when he faced them, CofC and Elon.
NU gave Rooney his only loss, Mellen beat Hofstra.

wiz, I'm going to agree with you here about Mellen. Very similar stats with Rooney with WHIP, K/IP, etc. but Rooney benefited from more innings pitched which boosted up his K's total. IP is an important stat, but I don't know enough to say whether that is a coaching difference or player difference. But the real argument as you mentioned is SOS. Mellen pitched against top teams in the country, getting some big wins. His only loss was at the #2 scoring team in the country, Texas Tech.
Anyway, awesome year for the Huskies! Bring on UNCW!

Yes it certainly will be.
Don’t know who’s starting for NU.
