This is years away. Strong has much work to do to make sure we're able to beat UF in four years. Probably going to need to win a NY6 bowl to keep the recruiting going strong by that point.

I'm curious to see if Mullen can get anything done there-he's an SEC guy and he did some good things at MSU. UF has progressively gotten worse every year since he's been gone and pretty much every SEC school is pillaging Florida for recruits. If he doesn't win big fast then they will drop beyond FSU and Miami-and then all it takes is one win by USF for whoever their head coach is then fired.

This might be the one time - AND THE ONLY TIME!!! - that I might just have to cheer for USF. I hate the Gators. A USF fan has never tried to get me fired. Honestly think Mullen has the job of improving UF so they can beat USF in 2022. I think we all would agree USF was playing at a higher level than UF in 2017 and I'm fairly confident that will continue in 2018. Obviously pretty subjective but not unfounded.

That being said, Mullen has SEC recruites, money, and the Gator brand to work with. He can improve the team considerably faster than Strong could relative to each other.

Good job signing a series with them. A bit jealous right now.

I am a bit surprised that FL risks defeat by playing USF at all and amazed they agreed to play USF on the road. I will be rooting for the Bulls.

Florida wants to recruit that part of Florida

For them, 5 million is worth it vs. being embarrassed by the Bulls. Florida does NOT want to fall further behind UCF/USF as it is. Next to the Alabama fans, the Gator fans are the worst. Two Gator fans have tried to get me fired here at work all over the UCF thing.

A $5 Mil buy game is totally worth it.

Correct, if they want to cut a 5M check for a one and done, so be it.

I think they get played due to the high buyouts.

Frankly, I am really surprised that UF agreed to those high buyouts. In this negotiation, they have all the cards... We are desperate to play them, not vice versa. But who cares, very happy however it happened... We have already beat UM and FSU once each... but UF is the team to beat in Florida to establish you can hang with the big boys.

It's "supposedly" easier to win a starting spot at USF than a p5.
It's "supposedly" easier to run your conference schedule of nobodies in the AAC.

If it's so damn easy bring your 5 star ass to Tampa and prove the world wrong. Prove you deserve to play in the NFL in an NFL stadium. Prove that you can be the one to put USF on the map, for all time. Prove that you have what it takes to be a legend.

That's my sales pitch. Plus the beach and the easy Tampa girls.

Should be able to convince enough 4 stars and some 5 stars. Definitely a ton of high 3 stars that get snubbed by the big boys.

You go through that schedule with 0/1 loss, no way the invitational can keep you out.

Nothing to be jealous about. 2:1's are bad deals, generally. I am sure UCF could have gotten a 2:1 with Florida also.

I know Strong is trying to beef up the schedule, but these 2 for 1's suck. We never did 2 for 1's before Charlie got here. In fact, we signed a 1:1 with Florida State while Willie T was here.

UF gets 3 home games out of the deal.
