Stadium naming rights
Does the stadium have a corporate sponsor with naming rights? If so, what is? If not, why not?

RE: Stadium naming rights
I'm guessing the city would be the ones to sell the naming rights

What stadium are you talking about and why would you ask about this?

Yup.
The Liberty Bowl football game.
And they don’t pay anything.

College program in a non-Power 5 League.
Barely top fifty market.
At most ten or eleven games (with at best four-five nationally televised).
The main tenant without rights to sell the naming rights.
Stadium already renamed to the annual bowl game.
There is NO WAY the Liberty Bowl could get a corporate sponsorship naming rights deal for business purposes for a million a year.
The University of Memphis in theory could get a naming rights deal for sentimental reasons as a way give a donation (like the Laurie-Walton practice facility) but the City owns the Liberty Bowl and may not agree to do that for the U of M. Of course no one is donating money to the City for naming rights to the building.

Maybe. Maybe not. Did you bother reading the story in the link?
Why do you think nobody would pay the city for the naming rights? Somebody would. It's just a matter of how much.

RE: Stadium naming rights
Companies have paid for naming rights for HS stadiums and minor league ballparks. Somebody would pay for LBMS naming rights.
The only real question is how much the market would bear.

I looked at it before I posted. None of the examples seemed to involve a non-Power 5 playing in a city owned stadium.
BTW, it seems like you think we can get a deal like we got for FedEx Park. That’s not likely until a new football stadium is built. As long as the Liberty Bowl is city owned, can’t see a deal working out for naming rights.

The city of Orlando sold the naming rights to their stadium formerly known as the Citrus Bowl.
Just saying.

actually the city of Orlando got zilch for the naming rights to Camping World Stadium....
The City won't see any of the revenue from naming rights. Steve Hogan, CEO of Florida Citrus Sports, a nonprofit which stages the bowl games at the stadium, told the Orlando Sentinel his organization is entitled to the revenue.

So when the Liberty Bowl game sells the naming rights and denies the University and the City any of the revenue, how is that going to go over?

True, but not the whole story. Florida Citrus gave money for the stadium upgrade, and somehow got naming rights in exchange for that.
"Steve Hogan, the CEO of Florida Citrus Sports, the private nonprofit that stages the bowls, said his organization earned the right to the naming-rights money when it contributed $20 million to the stadium's $207 million renovation.
He said naming rights are just a way for them to "claw back" some of the money."
