Please Note the revised game times for Tuesday. All games are on ESPN+ (4.99 a month fee, however there is a 7 day free trial going right now)

Tuesday Game times have been moved up because the Sun Belt just discovered it might rain in Louisiana in late May...shocking!

Tuesday: (Single Elimination)

#7 Little Rock vs #10 Georgia State 1:00pm
#8 Texas Arlington vs #9 Arkansas State 4:30pm

RE: 2018 Sun Belt Baseball Tournament Thread
Tuesday's announced starters:

Georgia State: Hunter Gaddis vs Little Rock: Chandler Fidel

Arkansas State TBA (Though we're assuming Brady Welsh) vs Texas Arlington (Ka'Ikepono Anderson)

AState Game Notes have Welsh listed, but Raffo refuses to actually admit that's his plan, so we'll play the TBA card for now just to be sure he's not nuts.

Gaddis is throwing for GSU on Two days rest after a 30 pitch bullpen outing Saturday. Anderson for UTA is throwing on 3 days rest after shutting out Texas State for 6 innings Friday. Both Welsh and Fidel would be on 4 days rest. (Though in College, 4 days is considered "short rest"

What? They're having to push the games back? I thought this only happened at fields with crappy drainage.

Now just try and imagine this with 36+ hours of non-stop rain and no sunshine. 07-coffee3

No, they're pushing games up, not back.

And that wouldn't be a problem at the Tigue.

I heard our announcer say Coastal will play the lowest seed remaining out of today's teams...How do they match up the other games scheduled for tomorrow?

Coastal plays the lowest seeded team that advances today, Cajuns played the other advancing team. South plays Southern (4/5), Troy plays Texas State (3/6).

If Ga St holds on to beat LR, then they will play Coastal and UL gets the Ark St/UTA winner. If LR comes back to win, then UL will play LR and Coastal will get the Ark St/UTA winner.

Also if anyone is coming to the tourney and needs an individual game ticket for non-UL games, let me know. I have two tourney packs of bleacher seats that I can let go at half price ($5/ticket). I live five minutes from the stadium so can meet up whenever.

Actually, I think LR will play the Cajuns.

I"m thinking GST is wishing they had kept the starter in for another 15 pitches or so. It's a killer when your top reliever comes in in the 9th and throw nine straight balls with both of the walks coming in to score. I also thought the home plate ump was squeezing them some considering some of the breaking balls he was calling earlier for strikes.

From the Cajuns perspective, this may be the more favorable outcome for Game 1, as Coastal could get Ark St who has been playing well lately and typically plays well in the tourney. I'd prefer LR's #2 guy vs Schmidt, especially the way LR has been playing as of late.

AState blows a 4-2 8th inning lead courtesy yet another bullpen meltdown, and loses to UTA in 10 innings.

Offense had a ton of chances early, failed to get a key hit, and the bullpen couldn't deliver when the game was tight. Story of our season in a nutshell.

Tomorrow:

South Alabama vs Georgia Southern 9:00am
Coastal Carolina vs Texas Arlington 12:30pm
Troy vs Texas State 4:00pm
Louisiana vs Little Rock 7:30pm

It’s been my experience that getting cute and trying to save your ace for a second game rarely works out. And even if it does, it all but elimines any chance of the guy being used on Sunday if needed.

Looks like Troy is not throwing Andrew Crane vs TXST tomorrow. Though their #2 guy has an 0.90 ERA so not sure it matters much.
