Kansas just fired its AD
Said the reason was performance. Probably football. Wonder if one of the reasons, at least in some part, has something to do with the FBI investigation.

RE: Kansas just fired its AD
Kansas has lost 60 of their last 63 Big 12 football games. I would say performance. For some reason, college AD's traditionally haven't paid the price when the people they hire fail miserably. Good for Kansas.

The money’s good.

As it stands, Zenger will be paid $1.4 million to stop coming into the office.

I could go cheaper than that.
I'll ask them to pay me $50,000 not to come in to work for them.
That's a bargain if you ask me.

The two things that get an AD fired (absent scandal) is hiring the wrong football coach and hiring the wrong men’s basketball coach, IMO.

Or Kansas blood could be in the water next round of realignment if they don't fix football. The B12 contract expires in what - 6 years?

I think it will be tempting to leave, but very difficult to go to a horrible football program in a league that may not survive. Especially with Penny on deck in about 5 months.

TB will leave if the money is right . A person has got to fund their retirement. Everything else is secondary .

RE: Kansas just fired its AD
Kansas is spending the money to be good in football. They announced plans for a $300 million stadium renovation and new indoor practice facility a year ago. $300M is a hell of a lot of money for a school like Kansas to spend on a terrible football program. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nc...103103820/

In September, a rich alum, David Booth, donated $50M towards the cost of the new stadium, and in December the Kansas BOR agreed to rename the new stadium The David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.

My prediction from last summer stands. Oklahoma and Kansas to the Big 10, announced in '21 or '22. Kansas is investing in football now in preparation. Big 12 as we know it collapses. Texas probably goes independent for a few years while they decide which conference to join. Memphis and the top AAC schools combine with some of the Big 12 leftovers.

Can we name it "Red White Blue Patriotic Athletic Conference?"

How?

All their MBB players would most likely be free to transfer without sitting out. Since the FBI has been about MBB then it most likely will be Tiger related.
