Don't know anything about the actual hotel but the area is safe if that's what you're asking. It's not really downtown in terms of other activities besides the game though. If you stay elsewhere and drive to the game you're going to park just south of that hotel at BioMedical Campus lot or at Cardinal Gibbons High School so the walk to the stadium will be the same either way unless their cash lots are different this year (Which I have not checked on myself yet).

Talked to someone at NC State today. He sounded kind of clueless but he was in their ticket department so who knows. He said the Cardinal Gibbons lots are not cash this year and were all sold to season ticket holders. He said there are spaces in the CVM Deck and West Chase lots that would be cash if they don't sell out to season ticket holders in advance. I asked where non-season ticket holders are supposed to park and his answers were to find a business nearby and walk or park downtown and take a bus. WTF? I know there are a couple of State guys here that would know more than me but this year parking is different than last year.
Bump from May.

Parking at State games down here is always at a premium but even more so this year (see link). The Cardinal Gibbons lot isn’t a bad walk and I’ve seen passes being sold on stubhub. Looking forward to 9/1. Go Dukes!

Or like was discussed earlier in this thread, the state fairgrounds are just across and Trinity Road. Park there and walk the mile or so.

Sounds like the best options are Cardinal Gibbons lot or Frank Weedon lot if you can find passes online. There is also a "premium" pass available on Craigslist for Stadium Lot East for $150 if anyone is interested in going behind enemy lines for the day. Apparently it's an oversized space with a great view of stadium/jumbotron.

That would definitely be the closest and ideal lot, especially for anyone planning to run out for a beer during halftime. The Cardinal Gibbons lot is probably a half mile at most while the fairgrounds lots are probably closer to a mile. I expect more parking passes to flood StubHub and VividSeats in the next week or so. Season tickets for State fans were sent out via FedEx on Tuesday so most don't have them yet. I expect with it being a holiday weekend and a noon game against an FCS team, a lot of fans will be looking to sell.

Go Dukes!

Good info! Thanks Carolina Duke. I plan to wait and see what pops up online in the coming weeks.

The CG lot is probably not cash this year.....NCSU lost ~2000 spots with the sale of some nearby land, 18+ acres. The price was very high but personally I think the State or NC State should have purchased it....built in parking decks with open top spots for tailgating....specifically built for that for football. Used them for any fairground, Carter-Finley or PNC Arena event and sold much of the land to private businesses which actually added to the area needs. It will become student apartments....the State of NC and NC State will find out how valuable that land was!

Fairground parking is 1/10 to 1 mile away; Vet. School parking is 1 mile to 1.6 mi. away; the above mentioned WC and CVM lots will mostly sell out to season ticket holders. There are some cash, private small, first come, first serve lots on Youth Center Drive 3-5/10 mi. away. NC State football games have become more of a walk! I walked probably 3-4 miles at tOSU.

If you see a CG lot space for sale it is .4 to .5 mi. away. Lots for sale within the gates are the closet for sure if you find those!

Former Richmond Spider Todd McShay's most recent mock draft has Ryan Finley of NC State being the first QB drafted at #16 overall in the 2019 NFL Draft.

He's a good QB and he came back to climb the Draft Ladder. He'll miss 4 guys from last year's offense that are on NFL teams but he has good offensive teammates coming back too. I'd definitely say beyond a shadow of a doubt, this is definitely NC State's best WR group ever and it's not only good but deep. The 2 OL line positions we lost, we have guys with experience taking those; depth there may be questioned? The RB and Swiss Army knife losses are in question. We have 1 RB coming back who could be a good part of the fix but the rest are untested. I think we'll move the ball and score points. Hopefully Ryan is drafted high and he makes NC State's 5th QB in the league next season.

Ask Joe Flacco what happened to him the last time JMU played a first round NFL drafted QB. 04-cheers

Seriously, NCST’s passing will be a difficult test. If we can’t get it off the field (as was the case against UNC two seasons ago) it will be a long day for JMU. That said, JMU still wins. 03-shhhh

Who the hell is Mitch Trubisky? He could not beat out Marquise Williams!!!!!!!! LMAO He didn't have 6 future NFL receivers to throw to either and that's just the top 6.

Mitchell does have a better RB these days however in the Little Man that Can...Tarick Cohen. I sent JMU coaches his info. during his junior and senior years and told them they should recruit and sign him....not a sniff. Same with about 75 more schools I sent 3-4 emails to.

Well, considering his name is spelled "Tarik", they perhaps thought you were talking about someone else.

the NC State QB / receiver combination does concern me.

- UNC ate us up 2 years ago
- truthfully, we had our hands full with the ECU receivers last year. our strategy was to take a 15 yard penalty when beaten rather then give up the huge plays

our defensive backfield is our strength, so we will see if they can pass this test. we will be breaking in some new safeties, the OSU kid should help

Yep. Their strength matches up with ours. As usual, like most all D-Coord's, Trott will do everything he can to force them to be one-dimensional. If NC State has success running the ball, it will be a very frustrating afternoon for our D.

That's the key to all of this, last year our D-Line was able to apply pressure and disrupt the run. If our guys can't get to their QB and hurry throws, he might have all day to pick us apart. Not concerned with our CBs, they'll hopefully neutralize their wideouts. The challenge will be the slots, TEs, and RBs coming through the middle. Raven and Jordon Brown really raised our D to a new level, our staff will definitely have to have these newer safeties coached up. If that OSU dude is the real deal it will make a huge difference.

We've mentioned two years ago at UNC and not stopping their air game, but the worst in my eyes was in '07, the Heels went over top and absolutely murdered us. It was 21 - 0 before we knew what hit us and we had what some would argue to be one of the top 5 teams JMU has ever assembled. We were never in the game. That simply cannot happen.

Seriously, NCST’s passing will be a difficult test. If we can’t get it off the field (as was the case against UNC two seasons ago) it will be a long day for JMU. That said, JMU still wins. 03-shhhh

Uhhh....Mitch Trubisky was the last first round QB we played?

Who the hell is Mitch Trubisky? He could not beat out Marquise Williams!!!!!!!! LMAO He didn't have 6 future NFL receivers to throw to either and that's just the top 6.

Mitchell does have a better RB these days however in the Little Man that Can...Tarick Cohen. I sent JMU coaches his info. during his junior and senior years and told them they should recruit and sign him....not a sniff. Same with about 75 more schools I sent 3-4 emails to.

Wait, coaches miss out on players? That's breaking news. NC State basketball coaches were among many that told Steph Curry he wasn't good enough to play in the ACC. Oops
