Is there a master plan for your stadium? It seems like every 5 years App adds something to the stadium but it never fits in or matches the rest of the stadium. It drives the OCD in me nuts.

Shox, still nice to see. Seen post in the past, students use to like sitting on the bank, which is now gone. Bet they are happy either way.

Again, looks nice.

There will still be a bank. It is just being moved forward. It will be parallel to the end zone rather than curved around where the track used to be.

As for a "master plan?" I am not sure. The original stadium dates back to the early 60's and was very small, with the track. Additions have been made incrementally over several decades.

The east side metal bleachers were thrown up in a hurry circa 2008ish and do not reflect the west side. They had to be steeper because there is a road behind them.

Eventually I bet they'll try to connect the two sides somehow and put seats over the new hill. With this huge economic setback, that will be many years down the road, I'm sure.

There was been talk of a master plan being created a few years back, but the plans have never been made public. So hopefully going forward they will tie things together some. There has been talk of connecting both sides in front of the new NEZ building, and I believe some talk of eventually putting seats where the bank is. If that happens it should look pretty good.

And trust me, many of our fans have been frustrated with the lack of a clear plan too. Gillin is the first AD we've had that seems to understand long term planning.

Legacy Arena in Downtown Birmingham (Next to new Protective Stadium in the Uptown District) is undergoing $70 million dollars in major renovations that should be completed by the end of 2021.

It will no longer look like a giant bomb shelter after completion....lol.

It seems difficult to believe, but the stadium is supposed to be ready for play by 9/19

Latest video. You have to tip your hat to the ironworkers...those are tough guys.

First game September 26th. SU received an extra week with the new schedule just released.

Close to finished. South end zone hill needs sod. Goal posts need to be put back up. North end zone complex needs to be painted. Plus a few other things. It'll be great to see a football game there whenever that day comes again.

Current Look here:

The basketball set up is in one end zone. Will the center hung scoreboard shift so both programs can use it ? I don't even know if that is possible I'm guessing the football scoreboard will be huge.

Right now the 4 sided center hung scoreboard will be at the 50 yard line. There is talk of it being mounted on a track to move it over the basketball court. However, that was too much to do in this phase. There are two other video boards in the Dome. The center hung 4 sided scoreboard is supposed to be the 3rd largest for 4 sided scoreboards but still tiny compared to the really big single video boards.

San Diego St. broke ground on their new stadium and campus expansion today. It has been a long time coming. Should be a game changer for the university.

I like the bright blue skies that App State has. When will the construction expected to be finished in the endzone?
