I find Mark G superior at conveying information. Calkins sometimes has an annoying and supercilious way of lecturing people on how they should think and act. I can think for myself and draw my own conclusions with sufficient and accurate information. Hence, my regard for Mark G over Calkins

I understand some people are devoted to Calkins and I do not condemn them for what is a matter of taste and preference.

Mark G has a very dry writing style similar to an AP story of the game with a few “every one knows tidbits” thrown in. Rarely gives any opinion or commentary on game or real insight into recruiting The great beat writers/columnists Tiger basketball has produced since Lapides have done those extra things. I’m sure Mark will catch on but he make no bones about his Michigan loyalties and that bothers me. Would prefer not to know. And yes compared to a rookie, Geoff is a Larry Bird.

You gotta learn the difference between a columnist and a reporter.
