2019 Men's Basketball Recruiting
As 2018 MBB recruiting wraps up and evaluations are underway for 2019 recruits, here goes another recruiting thread...
We'll have a good number of scholarships to give as our senior class will be large.

RE: 2019 Men's Basketball Recruiting (Unofficial)
We'll have to see how he grows, his handle, court savvy, etc. before we offer him. I don't see him playing in the MAC at his height (5' 4") and weight. 5' 4" players don't thrive in the Murphy zone.
He doesn't have the muscle of an Earl Boykins. Needs work in S&C.

I'll put down him down for the class of 2025. No typo. Lol.

2019 may be the most important class in Murphy's tenure. How we bounce back from losing our top 3 players will be key. I don't care if they're from Michigan, Ohio, Texas, Alaska, the Cayman Islands, wherever. Just find the talent.

I agree with you!!

Yesterday, 2017 U of D Jesuit grad, Greg Eboigbodin, announced his decision to transfer from Illinois. The 6'9" forward is attracting a good deal of interest. I have heard from schools in the Big East, A-10, MVC, MAAC and Horizon League.

One of those frosh big men whose GPA > PPG, but probably shows potential to develop. Has the size that Murphy loves.
Had some good games vs. B1G opponents - in a few games scoring as many as 8 or 10 points.

BTW, I assume that the 'MAAC" is a typo and is the MAC, not the other conference, the MAAC.

The core of the team's eligibility is expiring but it is only four guys and one of those is Isiah Green who is not very good. Rafus is the buzz at the athletic department. Groce and McAdoo have shown a lot of potential. I'm not Murphy's biggest fan but the guy can recruit like no EMU coach before. The question is "can he actually teach and improve his players". I don't know of a Max Crosby or Blake Banham situation in basketball where the player actually grew and developed at EMU.
If Groce, Ellison, King and Jones don't show marked improvement versus last year, I would think that Murph is better scouring the JC ranks instead of high schools with regard to recruiting.

Jerry, I assume but don't know that Stephens is a preferred walk-on for this season and will receive a full scholarship for next year which would leave us with 3 more scholies providing no one transfers out. I think the emphasis on this next recruiting class will be weighed heavily on JUCOs with maybe a prep school player thrown in there.

Jerry, good post. The cupboard will not be bare next season:
PG Paris/Ellison
SG McAdoo/Silver
SF Rafus
PF Groce
Center Toure/Jones/King
A good coach could get these players to a 0.500 finish in the conference.

Maybe early but I am surprised at the lack of new offers especially after summer AAU season. I'm sure it will pick up.
