At least Murphy is going down swinging. We offered LaMelo Ball yesterday. That’s one way to get fans to come to your games...by putting LaVar Ball’s crazy ass in the stands.

Was he a pro or simply ameuter in Europe? Now Spire which is in Ohio (?????). NBA???

I have no idea where he will be next year or two or three or four years down the road.

He played for a pro team, but I don't think he accepted a salary, which would protect his amateur status.

I could be wrong, but that must be the case since colleges are offering him. Or taking their chances that he will be deemed eligible, at least.

JUCO Micah Thomas committed. 6’7 195 wing.

Was a high 3* out of high school, committing to Maryland with a whole bunch of other P5 offers. Redshirted at Maryland before transferring to a JC. Think he has two years left.

EDIT: Sounds like he tore his ACL in November. In 17/18, he averaged 11.8 per game on 41/37/76 shooting. Took 7 threes a game and made 37% of them. That's not too shabby.

Nice, that gives us two for next year. Both wings. Do we need another big man? Or would a rotation of King, Toure and Bud Jones take care of it?

Assuming Stephens is a walk on this year and gets a scholie for next season after our two verbals we would have one left for 19-20.

And do we need another point guard for next year with Jackson leaving or can Ellison handle the job himself?

We offer JUCO PG Jeremy Carter Sheppard who has decent offers out of high school went to East Carolina and then to JUCO. Central Florida is currently 16-8.

Very impressive shooting numbers. It would be nice to have a guard that can hit around 40% from 3. I don’t think we’ve ever had that under Murphy.

Decent JUCO stats. I'm glad to see Murphy recruiting guys that can knock down 3's. Hopefully we can get him to commit.

RE: 2019 Men's Basketball Recruiting
These are the four Mr. Basketball finalists in MI. Interesting NONE to the B1G. One to DePaul, two to MAC and one undecided.

https://www.freep.com/story/sports/high-...941208002/

Couple of kids who are interesting, actually three.

B. Artis White is Benny's son. Small, jet quick PG. Should be interesting how he does in the MAC. Could be an impact player. Could be another LaMonta Stone Jr.

Chandler Turner, going to BG. No indication he is a brother of Justin Turner, even though same last name and high school. Could be another good one.

Joe Moon IV. Can't tell if he is a short SG (EDIT: video shows a PG with a smooth shot). Put up strong numbers (44% behind the arc). Undecided. I know nothing of his recruiting.

I wonder if Joe Moon IV has bad grades or something, I was just going to post I hope we at least scout him with his three point shooting percentage.

I think he went from a D-II to D-I recruit this past summer and especially his senior year.

He doesn't look very big but he is an interesting prospect.

And, of course, B. Artis White, son of Benny, is a very interesting prospect. We might see Benny in the Convo once a year starting next winter. And it would be awkward as EMU let Benny go.

RE: 2019 Men's Basketball Recruiting
Lets see if Stephens was a walk-on this season and gets a scholie our commits possibility wise look like this:

Stephens 6'6
Thomas 6'7 (JUCO)
Dillard 6'6 (prep school)

That would give us one more and I'm guessing we go for a high quality true PG regardless of whether its JUCO, prep school or a pure high school to replace Jackson.

Is anyone leaving? Who knows at this point.

Guys who will need to step it up next year: Toure Silver, Kevin M., Parris and Groce. Big shoes to fill.
