Hopefully, the redshirt freshmen will take advantage of their opportunities and have a break out game. Hopefully, the coaches will see the talent and use that talent. Hopefully, Harbison will turn out to be Turner the Burner and there will be very little pressure on the passing game. Hopefully...

I feel like he’s the kid who goes around telling everyone he might forego his senior year to enter the draft.

Last time NIU went to Iowa, Carey unleashed a previously unknown RB on them: Cameron Stingly. Who will be the secret weapon on this year's team?

I don't think Harbs is much of a secret. Dude just runs people over. Every time we needed him to get the tough yards he came through. What was the game they gave him the ball six, seven times to finish off a victory? That sold me.

Wish we had that mentality at the end of the SDSU game...

I hope that they give him the ball more consistently this season. Seems like in the past year or two they spread it around so much that no one gets in a rhythm. I think that Harbison could wear defenses down and win games if they will allow him to do so. Is he a good blocker and can he protect the QB when asked to do so? I hope so.

Rod Carey football: Do not give the ball to your best RB or QB.

Huskies would have to hold Iowa to 14 pts or less to have a chance. Not optimistic that can happen but much happier to play Iowa than a meaningless opener against the Blue Hose

That's just what they will be expecting you to do.

Wish more of NIU players did this type of training. Especially QBs and kickers.

At some point does it become a cultural issue? I don't think you could have anymore evidence of that after than after the Duke bowl invite last year. You had an invitation to play against an AAC team for a team that did not even win the MAC West, and you complain about it? The taste of that whole debacle is really hard to get rid of. I just cannot believe how this program has come from the days of Novak where almost to a man it seemed like players were fighting to put the NIU football program on a map, to today, and that embarrassing whining display by Carey.

Yes, I remember the time not too long ago when going to a bowl was an honor for the team and a fun experience for the fans.
