Wait JustBuc and Preacher were the same person. Interesting.

What’s more interesting is the helmethead posts.

RE: 2018/2019 Schedule
Not surprised. Would crack me up if it was Noland. Seems like something he would do to leak fan frenzying info to us regulars. Noland has been known to join the students and the mutiny at times. Assistant coaching staff can’t be that bold, and this poster seems of a higher intelligence, and yet very pointed and competitive in messaging. As a student I once mentioned this board to Noland, but he brushed it off...coyly? And wasn’t there a quip in the press from Noland or Sander about messageboards, suggesting their obvious awareness?

I’m going to narrow my witch hunt to Noland, Jay Sandos, and wildcard of Forbes. It’s got to be someone really bold and passionate about ETSU athletics. No collusion!

You didn't know that? I thought just about everyone had figured that out, as well as who he really is. Not going to go there per board rules.
But JustBuc showed up BEFORE Forbes was hired, told everyone he was going to be announced on X day (he was) told us Collins was going to be the last Assistant coach, gave us most of all the recruits before signed, told us some of the schedules. Almost like he knows Forbes in a close personal way and hangs out with the team a lot.

RE: 2018/2019 Schedule
Depending on what time the games actually start, I'm going to try to go for either North Dakota or UT Martin, not sure which one yet. I wouldn't mind attending both of those games if I could, but I live well over 3 hours from Johnson City, so barring something radically out of left field happening, I generally have to have things arranged at least a couple of days in advance if I go to a game.

Last due to work and other issues the only game I managed to attend was the season ending loss to Furman, so I'm hoping to get a game in and get one in much earlier this season.

And another Saturday home game vs NDSt. Glad to see them step up and play the Bucs....What time will those game be? Any word yet on times? Sun Bowl is a great event for ETSU as well. Forbes never shys away from playing good teams or going on the road. Sidenote- Anybody else notice Chatt, Wofford, Furman, Citadel playing 3 Non1s - what a joke.
We are playing Hiwassee again. They aren't even an accredited college. I had no delusions of decent teams coming to JC, but really hoped we could get Hiwasee off the schedule.

Please tell me you’re not seriously complaining about a D2 opponent. You can always choose not to attend.

I am complaining because they aren't D2, they aren't D3, they aren't NAIA. They play athletics in the National Christian College Athletic Association and have a total of 302 students.

Does it really matter if they are D2/D3/NAIA or whatever?? Seriously, what difference does it make? I'd imagine that with all of ETSU scheduling troubles, those games are the last to be filled often times with limited dates available. I wouldn't be surprised since they pay the Hiwassee's of the world a small amount if they aren't booked based on a personal relationship trying to help out a friends program. If you look at Reinhardt, Jason Gillespie is the head coach. ETSU grad and worked at UH. So I'm sure there is rhyme and reason to why they pick the schools they do. Lees-McRae brought Mister back for a game and they've played locals Mulligan and Tusculum. But I dont really see what the fuss is about??

Interesting note in the press release from ETSU that ETSU has the highest non-conference RPI and 2nd highest non-con SOS since Forbes got here. Combined with the best overall non-con record (tied with chatt) thats pretty remarkable. Look forward to see what the boys can do this year! There are some 50/50 games that could be huge if we can win our fair share

Remember last year when we struggled, and lost, in our first game to a more experienced NKU team? And later in the loss to Troy? After Troy, the Bucs were 2-3.

I don't think that it will be smooth sailing in the first few games for this year's Bucs. Too many new players, with the old ones taking on new responsibilities. It will take some of that toughness that coaches are looking for early to grit through the rough spots.

It reminds me of what Ohio State temporary football coach Ryan Day said in an on the field pregame interview at TCU: "We're going to take some punches. We'll need to be ready to punch back." Indeed, those "Bucks" had to come back from 13-21 down in the 3rd quarter.

I concur. That's not the same as predicting specific losses - just saying talent doesn't win games all by itself. But it sure makes it easier.

Two years ago, I thought Samford looked promising enough to have been tops in the league this year. Instead, a mass exodus has relegated them to cellar dweller status.

The Creighton game on 11/11 (Sunday) will tip at 1:30 Eastern on Fox Sports 1.

The Illinois game will be on the Big Ten Network Plus streaming site. You can subscribe for 1 month for 1 school's events for $9.99. You do not have to get the Big Ten Network on your cable to do so.

So far no TV announcement on the Sun Bowl games. I imagine those will be on a streaming service.

The ESPN3 and ESPN+ games will not be announced for a couple of weeks.

Bucs finish in at least 2nd place. Has happened 3 years running. Split with UNCG again and sweep Wofford with one come from behind victory. Make it to the conference championship for the 4th year straight. Get some.

That sounds about right. I think they'll end up having a bit more trouble early on, but end up similar to 2017 with a two way tie between ETSU and UNCG for regular season title, no three way with Furman or Wofford or anyone.

Provided both teams can make the championship game and one obviously win it, I'd have no problems with that, as the looser would probably be able to pick up an NIT bid. While the NCAA may be the ultimate goal, I see no shame in ending up with an NIT bid. Third time might be the charm as far as winning a game in that tournament, and schools outside of the traditional power conferences do have a tendency to have better luck or even win the whole thing outright on occasion.
