That is a great hint the Clayman Island classic. Guess we are a mainland team with Chicago State, Jackson State and Sam Houston State.
The bracketed team are listed here. http://www.caymanislandsclassic.com

RE: 2018/2019 Schedule
That's Awesome!!

The home and home with North Dakota State is exactly the type of game strong mid major programs like ETSU should (and I'm they sure do) strive to get if at all possible. I would prefer and think it is much more attractive to the fans at least to schedule multiple quality home and home mid major matchups yearly instead of an occasional P5 road game and multiple Mars Hill, Milligan, Tusculum, or worse matchups we seem to get stuck with yearly.

Again super excited to get the Bison on this years home schedule!

Pops - I'm sure if you know better how to schedule multiple quality mid-major home and home games year in and year out, Coach Forbes would be happy to hear your solution.

Who pulled your chain bucky 76? The post was not a complaint but a compliment as was stated in the form of being super excited getting NDSU on the sched.

It has been debated on here for a while now the constraints and hindrances the mid majors face in general and super strong mid majors like ETSU in particular face where out of conference scheduling is concerned.

If you read my post through it simply says that these type games(that I'm sure they try to schedule) are more attractive to me than the occasional P5 games. The ones that are 90% or more of the time on the road (money games) and seemingly never getting a home game in return save the Vols coming up a couple years ago.

If the mid majors could and would work together by doing whatever necessary to make these home and homes a reality, i.e. NDSU vs ETSU it would certainly make the OOC home scheds for same said mid majors much more attractive for the dumb ol ticket buying fans like me.

RE: 2018/2019 Schedule
You are making a false choice between P5 road games and mid major home and homes. We can get the money games without much of a problem- and they will be on the road. What the fans expect, fair or not, is quality home games against mid majors and these money road games.

I'm not sure about the majority of fans, but I would rather see them avoid any regular season games against a non division 1 opponent. Instead schedule one exhibition against a non-division 1 team or a very low quality division 1 team, and then a scrimmage like they did last year instead of a second game against this type of opponent. Those types of games are our choice.

I am excited about this home game. For the majority of fans and the students, it won't move the needle because of the lack of name recognition.

Doesn't read like an endorsement for Forbes scheduling.

You're right 76' here's your prize 01-ncaabbs

BTW Coach Forbes or any head coach is not the only one who is involved in scheduling at the collegiate level , The AD can and in many cases are involved directly in collegiate scheduling. We got a H & H worked out with NDSU this year and that is great. Maybe we can get 2 or 3 or more next year and in future seasons. There are many Mid Major coaches/AD's from all over the country who express the trials and tribulations of getting quality opponents on the schedule. My point is if these same folks would work with each other that more of these home and home series would become much more frequent.

RE: 2018/2019 Schedule
Well all these coaches and AD's that want
H&H games aren't from Tenn, NC, VA, SC, KY, etc.

Your comments that Coach Forbes and AD are not working to get mid-major games are false. They have offered to play every school that has been mentioned on this board and got a resounding no.

Why do you think Forbes played at South Dakota, Detroit, Fordham? Why play P5 teams away...to get two home games with mid-majors and a good payday. Do you think Forbes wants to play D2 games? He will tell you to your face, no. It doesn't help his team in anyway to play these games but to get enough games for the home fans, it was the only choice.

I guarantee you if a good mid-major team wants to play a H&H or just a single home game and the date can be worked out, Forbes would sign the contract in a heartbeat. Those games just have not been offered.

Every time someone on here says "I would like to see this happen" or just mention how they would like things to be your response is always something like "Do you not think Coach or Admin is doing a good job?" or "Do you think you could do better?". Get a grip.

I'm glad scheduling is difficult. That means we are really good.
I'm excited with North Dakota State. We have played a lot of teams the last couple of years that we never or rarely play such as Fordham and Detroit. Those programs are both in down cycles right now but still names we all recognize. Good trips for the players as well.
