Gavitt Games 2018
https://frshoopz.com/cbb/rothstein-match...itt-games/
Michigan at Villanova
Wisconsin at Xavier
Georgetown at Illinois
Ohio State at Creighton
St. John’s at Rutgers
Seton Hall at Nebraska
Marquette at Indiana
Penn State at DePaul
*Note: Providence and Butler are two Big East teams not involved in the 2018 Gavitt Games, while Michigan State, Iowa, Purdue, Maryland, Northwestern, and Minnesota are the six Big Ten teams that will not participate.
Disappointing that Michigan State will likely never play a game in this series, as it appears. My guess is that they are too booked with the Champions Classic and the Las Vegas Invitational. Also disappointing that three of the weakest (traditionally) B1G programs - Rutgers/Penn State/Nebraska - are paired this year, along with Iowa, Purdue, Maryland, Minnesota and Northwestern all sitting out.

really interesting with Michigan St.
I would say that Penn State and Nebraska I believe are supposed to be pretty good this year. Looking at the Lunardi bracketology-
Michigan 3 seed
Ohio St 5 seed
Nebraska 9 seed
Penn St 10 seed
Indiana 6th team out
Wisconsin 8th team out
Only Illinois and Rutgers not in his bracketology
Michigan St 2, Purdue 6, and Maryland 9 seeds not in Gavitt games.
This is the year to have Nebraska and Penn St I think.
Thru 4 years- these 6 have played 2 games- Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio St, Penn St, and Purdue.

That's a good point. Penn State and Nebraska have some positive momentum, and Rutgers is an old Big East foe, so at least there's history there.

Govan announced he's coming back for his senior season yesterday. Big return for Georgetown. Makes that away game against Illinois really interesting.

RE: Gavitt Games 2018
Georgetown's problem is going to be the OOC schedule. It's really soft again. Maybe a bit better- but look at their exempt tourney announced today- Jamaican Classic
South Florida, Ohio, Loyola Marymount, Central Connecticut, Campbell, Austin Peay and FAMU. 3 game tourney so going to really hurt....
Add to that Richmond at home and @ Syracuse(only really good game known). Unless they can add 1-2 really good games- going to be one where it takes 20+ wins to make the tourney this year.

The Jamaican Classic strikes me as being entirely about Pat's stature on the island and their push to land Kofi Cockburn, where if it pays off it's more than worth it. I don't really have Georgetown pegged as a tournament team next year, but if the season goes well it could be a year where they really start building toward something.
