CAA Teams in the 2018 NCAA Softball Tournament
Hofstra (19th in the RPI, 40-12) starts against Liberty (32nd, 47-12) and is in a Regional hosted by 9 seed South Carolina (9th, 45-14), who starts against UNC Greensboro (53rd, 46-11). The winner of that Regional will play a Super Regional against the winner of the Regional hosted by 8 seed Arizona State (7th, 43-11).

James Madison (25th, 42-12) starts against Ohio (55th, 38-15) and is in a Regional hosted by 10 seed Tennessee (8th, 45-12), who starts against Monmouth (114th, 32-14). The winner of that Regional will play a Super Regional against the winner of the Regional hosted by 7 seed Georgia (10th 43-11).

The RPI has 296 teams. The NCAA Tournament has 64 teams. Each team has one team seeded from 1 to 16, and the other three teams do not have numbers.

RE: CAA Teams in the 2018 NCAA Softball Tournament
Both CAA teams won once to finish third in their regional. Hofstra lost to Liberty, beat UNC Greensboro, and were eliminated by a walk-off home run by host South Carolina when Hofstra was 1 out away from winning. James Madison beat Ohio, lost to host Tennessee on the mercy rule, and were eliminated by Ohio.

Hofstra's former coach, Larissa Anderson, went to Missouri to make $185,000.
