UNCW Baseball
NU and UNCW split a doubleheader. Saturday’s game was moved up to Friday since bad weather is in the forecast.

NU was down 5-1 in 7th in Game 1 when they rallied to score 5 runs to take a 6-5 lead. But Kyle Murphy gave up the game tying run the the 8th and UNCW exercised a suicide squeeze in the 10th to snap the tie and won 7-6.

In Game 2 NU bounced back to win 7-4.

UNCW grabbed 2-0 lead in the 1st but NU stormed back with a 2-run HR from Jake Farrell and 4 runs in the 2nd, 3 coming on a Farrell 3-run triple. Senior Brian Christian got the win in his last home game at Friedman Diamond.

The win gives NU 31 on the season, which ties the program record for regular season wins set in 1991 ( my Jr. year at NU!).

The rubber game of the series will be on Sunday.
