Instead, hello Savannah State.

Sounds like a message board rumor.

It’s not. That said that decision was made before HCBC had time to work his magic recruiting.

The Savanah State game is a head scratcher. My mouth fell open when ingram told us.

Yes, a home opener featuring Savannah State on a Thursday night is absolutely brutal.

I just don't know if you could plan a worse home opener to stifle any momentum that carries over from last year. I mean, that takes a special talent to come up with something this bad

Ever faithful ever loyal must only apply to FBS opponents.

Everybody has already written this game off as a disaster and found someone to blame for it. I guess football isn't back all the way yet.

Exactly the opposite. We've reached a point in the program when we can look at a game and say "this is stupid". Just like 120 other FBS programs.

And all this negativity surrounding the entire program does it wonders, I'm sure. I'm sure Coach Clark appreciates all the negativity.

Instead of saying "this is stupid" over and over and over and over again, how about saying "OK this is a challenge we need to overcome"

I'm tired of being a part of a fan base that thinks it is the opposition party, when it is apparent that their impact is limited. Otherwise, Ray Watts would be gone.

RE: Coach Marsh
I will agree that we need to look at is as a challenge. I am working on youth teams. It's time to think outside the box and let's get people there.

* I am taking a day off to tailgate. There is plenty of time to request a day off for most. At worst call in sick.
* I am working trying to get the Ashville A, B, and C teams to the game. They will do group rates. This game is the best chance to get youth football players to the game as most play Saturdays.
* Buy a friend a ticket. If everyone buys a ticket and brings someone we double attendance. Who is in?

All ideas are on the table. The challenge is thrown out. We can complain about it or we can work to make this a fun home opener that we can be proud of. It's easy to sit here and point out the negatives. I've had enough of them. Let's now point out the positives and solutions to get a good crowd for our home opener.

Don't overlook charitable organizations like the Scouts, Big Brother / Big Sister, Greater B'ham Ministries, etc. There may be big donors out there who may find such giving to their liking if they have a couple of months to work out the details.
