The more things change, the more they continue to change

https://www.270towin.com/maps/2016-actual-electoral-map

Two maps here of the 1976 and 2016 election explain the Russian investigation.

Democrats are living in their coastal urban bubbles and have grown so intolerant of differing opinions, calling whoever disagrees a bigot or racist, the few Republicans living around them don't admit it.

They came to believe that changing demographics and their 2008 and 2012 triumphs meant an inevitable run of Democratic domination, instead of two incompetent Republican candidates coupled with a gigantic recession being the biggest factors.

So they were stunned when what many on this board predicted actually happened, Donald Trump won. They are making up fantasies to explain why they really weren't wrong and that Hillary actually did win.

These maps show that the only change that is constant is change. And you have to be willing to accept change as the snowflake Democrats are not.

Of the 24 states/districts that Carter won in 1976, Clinton only won 8. And they were the most Democratic ones-RI, MA, NY, MD, DC, DE, MN, HI. Of the 27 that Ford won, Trump only carried 14 with Hillary taking 13. So 29 of the 51 were different.

The entire south from Missouri/Kentucky/West Virginia/Virginia flipped. Carter took every state but Virginia. Trump took every state but Virginia. Half of the northeast flipped. Ford took ME, NH, VT, NJ and CT. Hillary won every state in the northeast, only losing 1 district in ME. Half the Midwest flipped as IL moved to the Democrats and PA, OH and WI moved to the Republicans. Indiana, Iowa and yes, Michigan, stayed with the Republicans. Almost half the west flipped. The rural mountain and plains states stayed Republican as HI stayed Democratic, but the coast flipped to the Democrats-WA, OR, CA and NV as did CO and NM. Meanwhile, Texas flipped to the Republicans.

We are living in a society where people live in bubbles and are resistant to change in their world views. Yet everything changes and change seems to be coming at a faster and faster pace. And that is the internal conflict that has driven the Russian conspiracy fictions.
