RE: UAB Picks Up Big Commitment From The Transfer Market
Obviously, you missed my point. He will have to sit out one year, and then have one year of eligibility. Why would coach Ehsan sign a player who is going to have to sit out one year and then have only one year of eligibility left? It just doesn't make sense. He is going to sit out for an entire season and then suit up season after next with the possibility of only being an actual asset to the team for only one season. I am merely looking at the big picture, the long term benefit of the teams success. It just seems like to me that next season, when he sits out, he is of no actual benefit to the team at all and then when he suits up for his only eligible senior season, there is a distinct possibility that he may very well not receive much playing time, if any, during his only year of eligibility.

He is allowed to practice with the team, and he will be a benefit. Why would you come on a message board and declare a player worthless to us before you even saw him? I doubt he came here for his senior year to play three minutes a game.

For the same reason that Gene Bartow signed Cliff Pruitt or Keith McCord for one year after sitting out a year. He thought they would help the team.

Because while we proclaim Bama fans to be the dumbest, we have some that rival that claim.

Not to attack you like the other a**holes but a few positives.

Gives us an second scholarship for 2020. Senior with JuCo Will Butler.

Gives an point guard option next year to take scootie off the ball (can't say that about this year). Should see where Hurtado is at point then go from there

Helps continue this new Kentucky player pipeline. More guys on the roster from Kentucky then Alabama or Birmingham.

Senior presence in practice and the locker room on a team with seven new players, at least one of them already homesick. Nicky Norton has left the building.

RE: UAB Picks Up Big Commitment From The Transfer Market
When someone wants to come to our university to play whether it be 1 year or 4 years or sit out a year & then play or just wave a damn towel on the bench I think we should be grateful.

We can talk about the coach, etc. if the pieces don't fit together but let's at least say thank you to those who want to contribute.

How are we being aholes? We signed the guy to contribute and he looks like a good player. Some of your favorite players ever were one year transfers under the genius that is mike davis.

It's a legit question, and were the players better?

The question doesn’t matter as he is a blazer now. We are fans, not coaches, until UAB comes to its senses and hires big dee.

Davis pulled in several decent one year guys. Why can’t Ehsan?

Im OK with him being a blazer. Don't wanna coach there, I know Davis did. Also not on staff yet to answer Ehsan.

Jeff Goodman @GoodmanESPN

Auburn has landed Memphis transfer Jamal Johnson, source told ESPN. 6-4 wing who will sit one and play 3.

Good for him. I must say I'm glad he didn't choose one of the CUSA schools that were recruiting him...

I wanted him to come to UAB really bad, but, of the bball teams I root for, I think Auburn needs him more.

If anyone cares: apparently Auburn is starting to feel really good about Mustapha Heron coming back, so they offered Johnson thinking JJ sits this year and takes over when Heron leaves after next season.

Back in the 90's, Arkansas executed a man named Ricky Ray Rector. After consuming his last meal, he told the guards he was saving his slice of pecan pie for later.

That came to mind here for some reason.

Regarding the sub thread about others coming here to read.

If I am not mistaken, Bryant Junior almost quoted Blazertalk threads complaining about Callaway when he talked to the media defending the OCS being pulled from the meeting agenda.

RE: UAB Picks Up Big Commitment From The Transfer Market
I looked it up. He specifically mentioned the "Hot Corner", but I am sure the same thing was written on Blazertalk.

A: "To start with, it's very difficult for them to have a chance recruiting with the facilities they have. It's very difficult for them to recruit when they can't admit players from Birmingham that qualify under NCAA requirements (but not under UAB's higher requirements). It's tough being the Vanderbilt of Conference USA, and that's what they're having to try to do. My main interest in it is to support the players and the coaches. I think last Friday there was something written in (a Hot Corner in The Birmingham News) whether to pull for them to win the (Marshall) game or not because you didn't know who you wanted the coach to be. I think that was a horrible thing to write. If anybody's looking at it that way, they ought to be doing everything they can to support the team to win games right now."

There have been posters on here that have previously claimed that Bryant Jr had an ACCOUNT on blazertalk03-lmfao

The account that was alleged as being Bryant Jr made all kinds of internet meme and cultural references that would have been typically well beyond what a man of his age would have knowledge of, so I never believed it

He's posted here in the past, though it's been some years now. Golden-gallon-guzzling geezer probably still reads, so here goes:

1. UAB has football.
2. Your side lost the Civil War.
3. We've had a black president.
4. Gay people can get married.
5. Martin Luther King Jr. has a national holiday. Paul W. Bryant Sr. does not.
