Hofstra Baseball
NU got a solid pitching effort from starter Tyler Brown and closer Andrew Misiaszek to best Hofstra 5-1 on Long Guyland.

Brown outdueled Hoffy ace John Rooney (7 IP, 6 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 8 K) and handed him his first loss of the season.

Ryan Solomon snapped a scoreless game in the 6th with a solo bomb to left center to put NU up 1-0.

NU knocked Rooney out of the game when Freshman sensation Ian Fair ripped a 2-out RBI single to right to put NU up 2 zip.

Charlie did McConnell went 3-5 and Jake Farrell went 2-5 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI.

Misiaszek picked up his 9th save.

NU has now won 11 in a row.

The best part, I made the trip to Hempstead from the city for the game!

RE: Hofstra Baseball
NU wins the rubber game of thier series vs Hofstra, shutting out the Pride 3-0.

NU records its 30th victory of the season and clinch their sixth consecutive CAA tournament berth.

Sean Mellen picked up his 10th win, going seven dominant innings, striking out nine.

He gave up Hofstra's only hit of the game – a single by Vito Friscia – in the bottom of the first inning.

Mellen tied Peter Schultz's 1994 program record for the most single-season victories.

NU has a big non-conference game at home vs UConn Wednesday afternoon that’s being billed the “New England championship” due to NU’s 8-1 record against New England opponents and UConn's 7-0-1 mark.

Right now NU has a 25 RPI, while the other Huskies have a 16 RPI.

NU then hosts UNCW next weekend. We owe them some payback from last years beatings the gave us.

Husky67,

Welcome aboard. That was still a game NU should’ve won.
