Well if everyone develops and stays we should have some pieces to work with next year.
I guess we plan to sign 3? Maybe recruit like we’ll need to sign 4 given the transfer epidemic?

Looks like we beat out TCU, Penn State, Tulane and St. Joseph’s, among others, to get him.

Asst. Coach Linebaugh is very familiar with that area of Pennsylvania having been a HS HC at a school about 85 miles away from where Crisler is playing.

RE: 2018-2019 Men's Basketball Recruiting Thread
2019 6-10 F Max Fiedler just committed. Out of Florida with a bunch of mid-major offers. I'm gonna say this isn't a good sign for our chances with Wilson + Deng. We've still got 2 spots left, 1 if Olivari commits tomorrow. Wilson especially, really. Can't imagine we'd grab 3 scholarship bigs in one class + a PWO big.
From his tape, I think an apt description for him would be an Ivy/Colonial styled big. He's not unathletic, and I'd imagine his athleticism plays up because he's got okay shooting range.

Well we won’t lack size. I agree he seems like a mid-major style big. Little bit of touch on his shot and can body up another team’s big. One site described him as “Mr Fundamentals”.

I love this. It's about time we'll have people down low with the ability to stop the post game of opposing teams.

Is Wilson a Forward or more of a Center? I didn’t know he could step out. I’d be surprised if we got Deng at this point. I’m guessing Olivari commits tomorrow.
No Texas guys again, but I’m sure it’s tough finding kids who can get in academically and ALSO want to play at Rice. Really important to find the right fit with these guys for Pera, he knows he can’t have another whole class transfer.

Wilson is a true center. 6-10 and long, but really skinny. Bit of a project, but I'd assume less of a project in CUSA vs. the Big East.

I’d like to see us dip into the international ranks for a player if we don’t close on our targets.

Olivari commits.
So we have 1 spot left and 2 offers to guys who would be our top signees. If we don’t land either I hope we go for a transfer.

Good shooter who can play the 1 in a pinch. Obviously cares about academics considering his final two schools were us and Cornell.

RE: 2018-2019 Men's Basketball Recruiting Thread
My thought is the two big guys seem to have similar skill sets and I doubt there will be room on the court for both of them at the same time. Whichever one seems to develop the most will play - the other could be a redshirt candidate. I think also this year's freshmen class seems to be a bit more skilled but it's another solid group.
The problem isn't who we are recruiting - the problem is retaining them. If we can get some roster retention, we have a chance to do something.

Evan palmquist from summit hs. Kid can flat out play. 6'2-6'3" wingman. Great court vision, a dawg on offense, competes and contests every shot on defense. Unselfish player that doesn't mind taking over when it's needed. Need to look into him.

I have a hard time believing all the scouting services are wrong on these kids and you just keep finding the best unheard of players in the state. He’s not even projected as a mid-major level recruit. He’d be a good walkon.
The football kids you posted aren’t even on any recruiting sites that I could find.
