There are better sources than me or the Internet (like someone involved in CFB) but here is an article which seems to indicate that rules changes has lengthened the time between first practice and first game (by doing away with 2 a day practices).

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/co...story.html

2017? I believe staffs still do 2 practices a day, but they will split it up between veterans in the morning session and newbies in the afternoon, etc. Again those first couple of practices are when the most critical injuries/fatalities occur according to the NCAA.

Even if he did find me and could actually fight (his season ending broken face suggests that he can't) he runs a 5.2 40, pretty sure I could "crawl away" faster than he runs, he'd never catch me. 02-13-banana

Give me a break Bob. You're old as dirt. You couldn't outrun a bovine.

I wouldn't pick on FCS programs. They've beaten us quite a few times.

At the spring game you could tell his arm is far above the others that were on the field -- Hutchinson was close.

All I can say, from what I know, we won't be hurting if the QBs have enough experience to get the job done.

As I indicated I have looked at the 'tape' of Grissom and Glass and both have good arms.

I would find it hard to believe one QB won't be able to get the job done...

This is a story about 2018 MAC QBs. Very good. One of the things I noticed was a photo from last year of Grissom. That guy is has a man's body even though he is still very young.

He is going to be some kind of athlete...

I could see Weigers and Grissom early on to see who takes the reigns.

I'm curious what his true height and weight is. I'm not doubting 6' 2" but he looks bigger than 204.

EMU is going to have some 'big boys' at QB, Wiegers, Grissom, Jackson, Hutchison, Stiebeling, etc. All 200+ lbs. Some, but not all, can run, too.

RE: Who Wins the 2018 QB Job?
Am I your insider? Lol.

Glass is very talented. Very good arm and has good wheels.

I'm aware of the dangers of making prognosications from tape, even JUCO tape, but he really impressed me when I looked at his videos earlier this year.

I'm trying to remember but it seems I saw him throw 45 yard throws accurately in game action. Some times tapes lie if a 290 lbs. OT is blocking a 220 lbs DE who can't bench 225 lbs more than a few times. But at QB, the ability to complete a 45 - 50 yard rope (throw, not catch and run) is something which can be seen on tape.

Also was very impressed with Glass' ability to move, scramble and run.

I think some of us, including me, E'Tough, etc. are looking at very spirited competition between Wiegers, Glass and Grissom.

Wiegers lacks much playing time but has 4 years in B1G football.

Glass has all the tools. And Grissom has a very high ceiling. He just needs to go out and develop his talent and be as good as his raw abilities are.

This all will be the great mystery of August and September.

Grissom not going to be a factor this year, Jackson already ahead of him with his early arrival and Spring work. Jackson may have a real shot at being a legit MAC QB down the road.

Glass is the best QB on the roster, with the best arm by far. Only question, will he get a real opportunity. Very similar to Turner out of the backfield.

Stiebeling kinda floating in 2nd/3rd place.............Hutchinson 3rd/4th.

Wiegers seems to be the leader in the clubhouse right now because of his Big10 practice reps, maturity & ability to pick up the offense, and most importantly his early arrival and Spring ball reps.

Really see a 2 man race between Wiegers and Glass, ultimately not decided until the end of camp. Wouldn't mind seeing both with equal reps in the home opener to really see who operates best in a real live game situation.

May the best man win, and a couple of the new guys show promise for the future!
