Colossal Fake News: NBC Issues Correction On Cohen Wiretapping Report
And then Michael Avenatti, Stormy Daniels lawyer, lied about it and said he knew for a fact that not only were they wiretapping him but that they had his texts too. He said, “I know that for a fact.” And why would Avenatti know unless someone was improperly leaking to him?
Quote:Late on Thursday, NBC News issued a correction to a false news report they published earlier in the day which dominated the news cycle for the majority of the day.
NBC News had claimed that federal investigators had a "wiretap" on the phones belonging to President Donald Trump's personal lawyer Michael Cohen and that "at least one phone call between a phone line associated with Cohen and the White House was intercepted."
That turned out to be false.
NBC News was forced to issue a retraction to their story, writing:
Earlier today, NBC News reported that there was a wiretap on the phones of Michael Cohen, President Trump’s longtime personal attorney, citing two separate sources with knowledge of the legal proceedings involving Cohen.
But three senior U.S. officials now dispute that, saying that the monitoring of Cohen’s phones was limited to a log of calls, known as a pen register, not a wiretap where investigators can actually listen to calls.
NBC News has changed the headline and revised parts of the original
article
You have to wonder exactly what ties NBC has to the deep state. If Trump eliminates it what effect will it have on the network. TV media is in the mist of major change much like print news was a decade ago. It's all about money and crony capitalism.

TV news is already a shadow of what it used to be. Outside of major news events (9/11, election days, etc.), viewership is a mere shadow of what it was in the 1950-1970's. It will only get worse. At least my generation still follows the news on the internet and social media, but I kind of wonder if the younger generations will even do that in the future.
I think NBC should be ashamed of itself. The networks are so eager to get the biggest scoops that they err quite frequently these days in reporting breaking news.

I can agree with you on that.
It's not just CNN and MSNBC. It's Fox and the written media as well.
NBC more than likely knew it would have to retract the story before it published it in the first place. They knew its followers would run with it, as was proven on this board. Those followers don't care about the retraction at all. Neither does NBC. Just another example of the witch hunt and why the daily news is worthless.
He’s probably watching MSNBC where’s they think Trump will be removed from office as soon as this afternoon with Hillary crowned as president, possibly by as early as this weekend. That network is literally impregnated with a special kind of stupid.
