SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Senate has approved requiring public schools to teach LGBT history.

The Senate voted 34-18 Wednesday on the plan by Chicago Democratic Sen. Heather Steans.

I have to believe if taught from documented fact, that history couldn't start before the 1970's. Most assertions before the 70's would be more like speculation.

Just teach history. If any gays have done anything noteworthy, they will be included. Silly to include someone in the limited time and pages based on what they placed in their mouths. Or butts.

If joe blow made history for curing polio, teach it. He didn't make history for bloody pants though. So why bring it up. Mentioning Hitler and Eva, ok. joe blow shared a life with tom, dick and harry? Ok. But the 4 homos living together isn't the lesson.
