Sad sad news. I have never met a person so passionate about this school. My heart goes out to his family. Rest in peace buddy.

RE: RIP Dan
Sorry for your loss Chipdip2. May your father RIP.

I'm new here but encountered Chipdip on another board. Good insight. Knowledgeable fan. I will miss his wit and views.

I have changed his account to be in Jersey Retired, added him to the Jersey Retired page ( https://csnbbs.com/misc.php?page=jerseyretired ), and renamed the Football board. We don't do the board rename for just anybody around here, either.

Classy move and a fitting tribute. We'll make sure his legacy lives on.

I approve! And I will also let my wife know to send you my information when I pass, because I am certain everyone around here will want GTS to name the entire board after me.

In all seriousness, dip would have been humbled by this gesture. Thanks.

He’s been part of WMU’s online fan presence since the first flickers of the Internet came into being, starting with SportsOnly and Mlive. He had his fights and friends, and I don’t think anyone put their soul and effort in Bronco sports in social media as he did.

I know he faced serious health battles over the years. He is now at rest.

Condolences

RE: RIP Dan
I first came across Dip online in the early 2000's, when he and Bronco Philly were making cyber life absolutely miserable for the Chips. What a trip that was! When the Bronco online community became active on other websites, I joined up. Dip and I had our cyber battles, for sure. I hated his politics and he hated mine. I couldn't stand the way he belittled other posters, and that he couldn't resist "poking the rattlesnake". I recall once when I really got into his head and he called me a "bitter, crippled old woman." Ha! But it never occurred to me that "Dip" was anything other than an online persona, as was "Whinny." Behind the scenes via PM's, we became pretty good friends. Dan was not at all like Dip.

He loved his Broncos, and he adored his family. His elementary school students loved him. He fought so valiantly in his battle with cancer, long past the time when others would have given up. I'm grateful that he no longer has to fight. That frees him up for making mischief in Heaven. And he'll have the best seat in the house for Bronco football games!

I wonder if it wouldn't be more appropriate to name it the "ChipDip Bronco Football Forum" instead.
