RE: Possibly the real reason shabazz isn't on staff yet?
TigerGary, Sam Mitchell would be on the coaching staff, so he’s ok. Rule is for non-coaching positions.

I'm not saying yall wrong. But why when penny has been asked he's said he wants him. And the times 92.9 has interviewed Shabazz he's stated all he needs is to finish a degree. Yet no interviewer has brought up that he can't if he trains recruits? And no other thread on here has brought up that?

RE: Possibly the real reason shabazz isn't on staff yet?
Calkins or someone pointed out the Shabazz-Lomax relationship as an obstacle to him getting hired in a non-coaching position. I think it was well communicated that th3 2-year rule applied for him.
I didn't even think a degree would be an issue for a S&C coach - as long as he's showing progress.
Based on Penny's comments, Penny was advised by a few different people to keep some staff in place for a year or two for continuity and learning curve. He stated Shabazz was his best friend and that he would be on staff one day. But now is probably not the best time for that to happen.
Could very well be a combination of what you are saying, along with the relationship complication, along with what Penny is saying.
