How good is James Wiseman?
Here is a Kentucky fan scouting report of James Wiseman. It's pretty unbiased and informative.

He is pivotal for Penny and Memphis. It's just not every day you are neck and neck for the #1 player in the nation. I guess we will see soon enough.

Better than Dedric, worse than Lee.

RE: How good is James Wiseman?
He actually reminds me a little bit of Keith Lee. Similar size, length, nice hands, soft touch. Lee was a great shooter, Wiseman is more of a rim rattler but similar games. Lee was also a great, great passer.

Considering Keith Lee is arguably the greatest Tiger ever, certainly top 5, well, Wiseman is great. I hope to see Wiseman in a Tiiger uniform soon.

Yes, more athletic than Lee, but nobody that tall is as good a shooter as Lee was.

Not necessarily. The AAC is a pretty good league in case you haven't been watching lately. At least the top half of the league.

There were but they are in NBA HOF. Larry Bird comes to mind. I know several players on that team. They didn’t let Keith shoot over 17 ft or so. Batman was about a 14, Andre was 16, etc. all approx numbers that team didn’t take many bad shots but it limited their shooting skills.

Different type of player that either of those guys. The Anthony Davis comparison is a good one, IMO.

RE: How good is James Wiseman?
Good eval with one humorous error: at the 2:28ish mark the text states "not currently amphibious" which while a true statement is likely not the intended statement. I too am not currently amphibious and I doubt any of our posters are. Also, I am not ambidextrous.

Summary of the video if you don't have the time to watch:

1. Wiseman is good
2. He is not a frog, salamander, etc.

It's a reference to Charles Shackleford (an NC State Center from the late 80s), who infamously claimed to be "amphibious, I can shoot with either hand".

To date, Lee was the greatest Tiger ever. His recruitment was a game-changer for our B.B. program. You have to have lived through the pre-Lee period to understand how much of a change and excitement about the program he brought. I know others have Finch, and even Penny, as the greatest Tiger. And Penny could, indeed, supplant Lee if his coaching tenure works out well - he’s certainly already brought back excitement to a down program.

Before last month, I would say that Finch was the greatest person in Memphis basketball history. Player who took us to the final four, as assistant, back top the final four and as head coach the elite 8.

Now, although the future is yet to be written, Penny could equal, or even surpass Finch with the future he has planned.

But, Lee was MVP, with Hardaway 2, Rose 3 and Finch 4.

I disagree there...Rose essentially helped them win 2 more games than the two previous teams before him. If CDR returned that team in 09 likely goes to the finals as well.

Agree with most - good presentation. MVP votes, I would move Finch to #3, and argue about who is #4 (lots of candidates).
