They remind me a lot of our team several years ago with Heinicke. They will move the ball against ODU and put up points. If our offense isn't ready to go, we will get beat.

If St effing Francis can beat them in Lynchburg so can we. We don't need to be humble all the ******* time esp when a fanbase of a damn school for lobbyists is taking shots at us. I would say we will take their money and take them to the woodshed.

Liberty went 6-5 last year with losses to Jacksonville State, Saint Francis, Kennesaw State, Monmouth and Charleston Southern.

They had wins over:

Baylor 1-11 beat Kansas
Morehead State 4-7 beat Kentucky Christian, Dayton, Stetson and Davidson
Indiana State 0-11
Gardner-Webb 1-10 beat Shorter
Duquesne 7-4 beat Wagner, Robert Morris, Saint Francis, Sacred Heart, etc.
Presbyterian 4-7 beat Campbell, Cumberland, Saint Francis and Gardner-Webb

This game will not be close.

I've been investigating tickets and best prices. You can get them now through ODU now for $40 after fees. It says reserved, I'm assuming that's in the visitors section, which are on the end. The Eastside GA look to be the cheapest, there's two sections adjacent to the visitors section on the upper from about the 10 to 25 yard line. Single game tickets go on sale through Liberty 8/15 and it looks like tickets for those sections will be $30 with no fees if you print from home (at least when I went through the two game deal process which are available now there were no fees added, the two game deal is $40 which is pretty good if you live in the area). Of course there are better seats to be had if you want to get closer to mid field but I'm looking at economy. The best deal is group tickets though if you buy 10-24 you can them for $18 and up and better deals for larger groups. Looks like our game will have the highest premium this year.

Looks like I can make this one afterall. Any Monarch hangouts in Lynchburg? Otherwise, we may hit Ledo's Pizza before the game.

Another option for folks looking for economic seats. You might get them for a better price than you do at stubhub

I checked that out. It comes out to about $30 after fees (for the cheapest tix). If it doesn't sell out then prices could drop but I think they expect it to be a sell out.

I'm not sure about tailgating spots. Haven't looked into it yet.

Yep you are correct. There is no E-ticket option and how shipping two tickets is costing 14 bucks to anywhere in the continental US is beyond me.

Well the next one down for $23 is downloadable but still comes out to $30 with fees ($2.50 instant download fee 05-nono)

Do you think an exhibition game is going to prepare us for FIU? How about we start the season with a P5 for a change? How about a trip to Tuscaloosa. Once the team gets a taste of that, nothing on the remaining schedule will strike fear in the Monarchs.

Let's do a home and home shall we?

Not trying to derail the thread with a response but we got crushed by UNC last year in what was one of their worst seasons as of late, we never crossed the 50 yard line at tech and you want to play Bama. Then you say lets do a home and home so I am assuming your whole post is a joke considering the fact the bama rarely plays a p5 as a true road game let alone a G5.

You miss the point that we start our season with what amounts to an exhibition (weak opponent). We need to be ready on day 1 and not treat opening week as an audition to see who will be the starters. Alabama or any P5 was an example of how the team would have to step it up a notch to be prepared on day one.

Also the 757 reputation makes it easier for P5's to consider playing here. That's already been proven.

Do we know yet where the game will be Televised? I won't be able to watch it live, but I was hoping to watch a replay at some point.

We can attract ACC teams to Norfolk. There's no way a better SEC team would agree to play here.

I’m excited for this game because a large percent of your fans have no idea what they are talking about.

1) the offense has NFL talent at QB and WR (Buckshot and AGG).
2) the offensive line is experienced and should not be a weakness to the offense as we bring back a lot of talent there and they weren’t really a weakness last year
3) our best defensive player is back (Wells) playing DE and will also end up being drafted.
4) the major concern is stopping the run and we brought in A LOT of guys from JUCO just for that
5) Michael Lewis should boost depth on he DE position (we beat out K-State for him)

If we aren't ready for a CUSA school in week 2 after playing an FCS/Low FBS school in week 1, how would we be ready for an FBS game without any game experience?

On paper it should be a blowout but before visions of 60-point routs dance in your head, this is a big game for them. It'll be their first time hosting an FBS opponent, and I presume will be the largest home crowd in program history with the stadium expansion? There's a lot of X factors that make them more dangerous than if this was taking place in October or November, and much MUCH more dangerous than if it were happening in Norfolk. Plus stupid **** happens in the first week. I expect ODU to win, and comfortably, but I'm also not going to be surprised if this turns into a fight.

Diddo. I could also see a 6 win season even if we dropped this game. I'm not expecting an easy game.
