Making a name for himself
Snippet from the newsletter..... Pretty good chance he will find playing time this year.

"I think (the coaching staff) trusts me with the underneath route and being able to go and get some yards."

Carey applauded Tucker's recent performance, but said he still has a long way to go.

"He's got to keep improving in (route running)," Carey said. "He needs to up his physicality, not only in block running but in route running."

Tucker, who is listed at 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, said he spent last season learning behind former NIU receiver Chad Beebe.

In addition to Tucker's responsibilities at the receiver position, he has spent a majority of spring as the featured punt and kick returner – a role Beebe also played throughout his career.

"Chad really showed me what to do last year," Tucker said. "He was a great route runner. I think I am proving myself. I still have a long way to go. Going against defensive backs like Mykelti Williams and Jalen Embry everyday – it makes me better.
