Just ended. Nothing groundbreaking.
Addressed the rumor mill regarding him being up for other AD positions and said that he has a good fit at NIU and if there are any questions about what he's up for then all people need to do is call. Sooooo... feel free to call his office.

Did he even address the existence of the "great news" Carey referred to?

Maybe the great news is that STF has a good fit at NIU. (I wonder where he buys his clothes?)

As HOY said, nothing groundbreaking, and no reference to the "great news" RC alluded to. For people who don't live on this Board, I'm sure some of the conversation was new and of interest. Frazier did a nice job--very positive, lots of energy. Good chemistry between him and Rozner--I like how Roz advocates for his alma mater. He was on full time we might get more air time. For those who missed it, Sean T talked about the schedule, especially FSU and Utah--very positive comments about the Utah AD and how the home/away with them got scheduled. He delicately and with a sense of humor answered Rozner's question about Central Florida staking claim to last year's national champion after going undefeated, and what Nick Saban thought about it. He talked about the Mallory Cup game, the budget problems, and other schools pursuing him for job openings. He was very complimentary about how NIU and how it's a fit for his family. Mentioned his son's autism and that he's never had better opportunities than he has had in DeKalb/Sycamore. Also mentioned that his daughters love the area. It was a good listen. The haters will hate Sean T regardless, but he did a great job.

Thanks much for the cliffs notes HW58.

Not a fan of an AD who treats fans with tremendous disdain, treats athletic department employees as subhuman, and is desperate to leave DeKalb.

What kind of proof do you have that he treats fans with disdain? Just a few months ago I asked him on Twitter about bringing back the retro huskie logo. He retweeted it, said he loved the idea, and told me they are working on something. Sure didn’t treat me with disdain.

And here I was thinking MD had turned over a new leaf. Ha. Same old same old. Complete BS and slander. Prove any of your points because it’s ridiculous to bash someone who many feel is busting his butt for the athletic department.

Especially given the budget cuts in Illinois. Had that not been an issue STF would be able to do so much more.

Can someone explain to me how state budget cuts have caused students not to enroll at NIU? It is the lack of student fees because of declining enrollment that is causing a major problem in the athletic department budget not state budget cuts. Let us hold the Board of Trustees and NIU's administration accountable for their lack of leadership and vision. STF is part of that administrative team.

Cost to attend school here (tuition and room/board) is higher than many private schools and out of state tuition. The state budget has led to higher costs for in state schools. Many high schoolers are choosing out of state and private schools more. Juco is also a more popular route to avoid huge costs. Kids don’t want to be burdened with student loans. I’ve spoken with parents whose children were offered much more in incentives to attend other schools and Niu didn’t offer anything or didn’t come close to competing. The student fees is also a huge issue but the root starts with cost of enrollment. Maybe it’s a chicken vs egg argument but I think the State has come first. One issue that has really led to decreased enrollment is the perception of crime in the area around Niu. There is a good argument to say that Niu hasn’t done enough to stabilize the area which has led to the significant decrease in enrollment. Plus another 15% this year is what I’ve heard.
