RE: Watching Hurt
Really liking the guys we’re recruiting. Wiseman is obviously top priority and we’d take any/all of the others, but I hope we get Precious. All of those dudes on the same team would be insanity. I can’t see us getting them all, but we’ll see. Hurt would be a pleasant surprise.

RE: Watching Hurt
Don't think he'll end up at KU, the family will be scared off by the FBI investigations and the optics of an Adidas kid going to Kansas. Our biggest threats for Hurt are UK, Duke, UNC, and Minn. I personally think Hurt will be a Tiger when its all said and done.

I have no idea if there's any connection but it looks like Chandler Lawson is going to commit early and Kansas is the leader. Lots of Lawson's on that team and they all play a similar game.

They all have different skills. Dedric is a big double double machine. KJ and Chandler slender, more athletic. All 3 are good passers and decent 3 pt shooters. Chandler is the best on the ball defender. Just for a start.

Are you confirming the staff told a booster about the double secret silent verbal from Hurt? If so, I concur! I heard it too! (Right here on this very board!!!!)

If someone had told me 4 years ago that Chandler Lawson was going to Kansas, I would have been really disappointed. But considering who Memphis is recruiting in this class (feeling like we will sign our share), I could care less where Chandler winds up. I don't mean that in a mean way. I wish the young man well but we are in on much bigger fish.

I have also read that we are seriously in the hunt for Precious Achiuwa. Great time to be a Tiger. Not saying we will land all of these guys but it is awesome to be in the conversation again.

Land 1 and we are thrilled. Land 2 and we are serious contenders next year. Land more than 2 of those guys and watch every Memphis fan's mind blow up... 02-13-banana

Landing Hurt would send far more shockwaves through college basketball than landing Wiseman. Not that landing Wiseman wouldn’t be huge for us; but there is a more natural connect with Wiseman. Hurt is the type of player who goes to Kansas or Duke. He has little connection to Memphis (mike miller’s brother, but not much else). Landing Hurt would establish us as a big time recruiting power.

Hurt's dad was born in Memphis. Something about Hurt's granddad doing his residency here when Hurt's dad was born, iirc.

And there is the Sam Mitchell connection as well. Family likes him a lot too.

RE: Watching Hurt
If we pick up Hurt, to go with Wiseman, we would have the slight edge at the #1 class over USC for ‘19. At least for now

I guess DJ would play the 3? That’s a big line up. If we got Watford too I guess he’s coming off the bench haha. This is insane.

We have a much better chance that most think to get Hurt. He has told Penny he would like to play point forward like Penny did here and really likes Mike and family. Relationships mean so much in recruiting and most top kids want to get to F4. With that lineup we would have a good shot.

That would be a freaking line up. DJ coming off the bench we would be loaded.
